This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Wyles of Plungar in the County of Leicester Retired Farmer

I bequeath to my dear Wife Anna Machin Wyles my bay pony “Mischief”

I bequeath to my said Wife all my watches jewels ornaments of the person and wearing apparel and all my plate plated articles furniture linen glass china pictures prints musical instruments books and other articles of household use or ornament and wines liquors household stores and provisions

I bequeath to my said Wife the sum of One hundred pounds to be paid to her as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

I devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate whatsoever unto my Nephews Robert Wright Wyles and Frederick Wright their heirs executors and administrators respectively Upon trust that they the said Robert Wright Wyles and Frederick Wyles [should say Wright] or the survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such survivor (all of which several persons and other the Trustees or Trustee for the time being of this my Will are hereinafter referred to as “the said Trustees or Trustee”) shall sell call in collect or otherwise convert into money such parts of the said trust premises as shall not consist of ready money And shall out of the moneys to arise from such sale calling in collection and conversion and the ready money of which I shall be possessed at my death pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and the legacies other than specific bequeathed by this my Will or any Codicil hereto And shall invest the residue of the said moneys in the names or name or under the legal control of the said Trustees or Trustee in or upon any of the Government Securities of the United Kingdom or India or any Colony or Dependency of the United Kingdom or upon freehold copyhold leasehold or chattel real securities in England or Wales or in or upon the stocks funds shares debentures mortgages or securities of any Company or Corporation whether commercial municipal local or otherwise in the United Kingdom and may vary the investments from time to time for any other or others of a like nature And shall pay the income of the said trust premises to my said Wife during her life

And after her death shall hold the said trust premises In trust for such of my brothers and sisters (other than and excepting my sisters Elizabeth Wright and Eleanor Greenham) living at my death and such of the children of any brother or sister of mine (excepting my two sisters Elizabeth Wright and Eleanor Greenham) having predeceased me as being male attain the age of twenty one years or being female attain that age or marry and if more than one in equal shares per stirpes so that my brothers and sisters taking under this trust shall take in equal shares and the children taking under this trust of any brother or sister having predeceased me shall take equally between them the share which the parent would have taken had he or she survived me Provided always that my Nephew Joshua Thomas Cottam shall not participate in or benefit by the trust hereinbefore declared

I hereby appoint the said Robert Wright Wyles and Frederick Wright Executors of this my Will and bequeath to each of them who shall prove my said Will the sum of Ten pounds

Lastly I revoke all other testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me

In witness whereof I the said Robert Wyles the Testator have to this my Will set my hand this twenty ninth day of July one thousand eight hundred and ninety seven

Signed and acknowledged by the said Robert Wyles the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us both being present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses the words “shall take in equal shares and the children” having been previously struck out and the name Cottam previously substituted for Cothman
