Royalty

Hickling, like every community has brushed with royalty through its history; the yet-to-be-confirmed reports of Charles I raising his Standard during the Civil War through to links with our local Hunts; Prince Charles (as he was then) and Princess Diana waiting in a parked Land Rover on Main Street.

Equally important are village celebrations for royal occasions; an opportunity for everyone to get together – have fun, be silly and to show our respect; the Queen’s Jubilees have always been celebrated with gusto in Hickling and we expect 2022 to be no different:

  • The Death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Accession of His Majesty King Charles III (September 8th 2022) – see link, above.
  • The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee (2022) – see link, above.
  • The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee (2012) – see links, above
  • The Queen’s Golden Jubilee (2002) – see gallery, below
  • The Queen’s Silver Jubilee (1975) – see gallery, below
  • The Queen’s Coronation (1953) – see gallery, below
