In the Name of God Amen I Robert Wright of Claxton als Long Clawson in the County of Leicester gent being Indisposed & Weake in Body but of perfect Mind and Memory praised be Almighty God for it Doe make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)

Imprimis I bequeath my Soul to god Almighty that Gave it hopeing through God Almightys Mercy and goodness and the Meritts of his son Jesus Christ to obtaine free pardon for all my Sins and to Inheritt Eternall Rest and happyness and my Body to be decently Buried att the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named

Item I give and Devise to my Loveing wife Sarah Wright All that my Messuage house and homestead Dovehouse & other Outhouses buildings and two Closes of pasture called Drapers Closes containing by estimacon two Acres be the same more or Less and three Oxgangs of Land of arable meadow and pasture Common & Comon of pasture with their appurtenances which said Messuage Closes Lands and premisses are scituate lying and being within the Liberties of Claxton als Long Clawson aforesaid untill my eldest Son Robert Wright attaine to the Age of one and twenty yeares and if my said wife happen to Dye or Depart this Life before my said Son Robert Wright attaine to the Age of One and twenty yeares then my Mind and Will is that the said Messuage Closes and three Oxgangs of Land with their Appurtenances and the rents and profitts thereof Shall be disposed of by my Executor for the bringing upp and maintain of all my Children until My said son Robert attaine to the Age of One and Twenty yeares

Item I doe hereby give and devise the said Messuage two Closes and three Oxgangs of Land with their Appurtenances unto my son Robert Wright his heirs and assignes for ever to enter upon the same when hee attaines to the Age of One and twenty yeares Subject Nevertheless to the payment of tenn pounds a yeare yearly and every yeare quarterly unto my said Loveing wife Sarah Wright dureing the terme of her naturall Life by way of Rent Charge out of the said Messuage Closes and three Oxgang of Land in full satisfaction of her Joynture thirds and Dower of all other my Lands and tenements that shee may or Can Claime

Item all the rest of my Lands Lying within the Liberties of Claxton Als Long Clawson aforesaid commonly accounted four Oxgangs of Land of arable meadow and pasture Comon & Comon of pasture with their Appurts and all that Close of pasture Called by the name of Gorse Close containing by estimation two acres be the same more or Less I Doe hereby give and Devise to my Loveing Brother Edward Wright of Haverholme in the County of Lincolne gent his heirs and assignes for ever to sell and dispose of the same towards payment of my debts and Children porcons if my personal Estate fall short

Item My [“mind” missing] and Will is and I doe hereby give and bequeath the Surplus and Remainder of all the value of the said Lands and of all my personall Estate after my Debts and funerall Expences Defrayed and paid to my Sons Thomas Edward John Samuell and my daughters Mary Sarah and Elizabeth Wright to be equally devided amongst them Share and Share alike and the Rents or Interest of what their Severall porcons Shall arise to for their Maintenance of my Children till they severally attaine to the Age of One and twenty yeares and then they are every of them to Receive their severall and respective parts or portions

Item all my parte of the West end Windmill and all other Estate reale or personall undisposed of I give to my Loveing Brother Edward Wright to sell or Dispose thereof to the use of my younger Children And I Doe hereby make my said Loveing Brother Edward Wright Sole Executor of this my Last Will and testament Revokeing all former wills by me made

In Witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seale this Eighth day of May in the Twelfth year of the reigne of Willm the third Now King of England &c Anno Dni 1700
