In the Name of God Amen I Solomon Woodroffe of Neather Broughton in the County of Leicester Gentleman being weak in Boddy But of Sound and Perfect Mind and Memory Praised be Almighty God for the same and calling to mind the uncertainty of Life knowing it is Appointed for all Men once to Dye And being desirous to settle things in Order do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following
First and principally I Commend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Heavenly Father hoping that through the precious Death and Merits of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to receive pardon and remission of all my sins and to be saved and my Body I Comit to the Earth And as to What Worldly Estate it hath Pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me in this Life I Give and bequeath in Manner and form following
First I will that my Debts Legacys and Funeral Expences be Discharged
Also I give unto my Eldest Son Solomon Woodroffe and his assignes for ever my House and two Closes With all the Commons and appurtenances theirunto belonging lying and being at Burton upon the Woulds in the County of Leicester
Also I give and Devise unto my son Joseph Woodroffe and his heirs and Assignes for ever my house and home close and three pastures with the cottage common and all the appurtenances theirunto belonging with I purchased of one Shepherd of Nottingham
Also I give unto my son Joseph Woodroffe my House and orchard with the Cottage and all the appurtenances theirunto belonging Lying and being in Neather Broughton unto my said son Joseph Woodroffe and his heirs and Assignes forever Which said house and cottage I purchased of and from William Johnson
Also I Give and Devise to my son Joseph Woodroffe All that my Oxgang of land with all the pastures and commons theirunto belonging Lying and being in the fields and Commonable places in Neather Broughton which I purchased of John Smyth unto my said son Joseph Woodroffe and his heirs and Assignes for ever
Also I give and Devise unto my son Joseph Woodroffe and his heirs and assignes for ever my Pease Close which I purchased of Elizabeth Man
Also I Give unto my Daughter Mary Woodroffe the sum of Two Hundred pounds emeidiatly after my Decease which said sum lyeth in the hands of William Wright on Mortgage
Also I give unto my Daughter Mary Woodroffe Half my Household goods and furniture
All the rest of my goods Cattle Chattles and personal Estate I give unto my son Joseph Woodroffe whom I hereby make full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
In Witnes whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this Eleventh Day of May in the year of Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and fifty six and in the twenty ninth year of our Sovereign Lord George the second

Before the sealing hereof I give my Son Solomon the sum of five pound to be paid by my executor
