Francis Wilford of Ab Kettleby 1866 Will

This is the last will and Testament of me Francis Wilford of Abb Kettleby in the County of Leicester Farmer

I Give to my daughter Sarah a Legacy of One hundred pounds to be paid at the end of Twelve months from my death

I do not give the same to my Son as I have given it him in my lifetime

I Give to my Wife One hundred pounds to be retained by her at my death for her own use

All the rest residue and Reminder of my money Securities Household Furniture Farming Stock and all other my personal Estate and Effects I Give the use and interest thereof to and for my Wife during her life to enable her to carry on my Farming Business

After the death of my said Wife I direct the remainder of my property to be equally divided between my said Son and Daughter share and share alike

It is my wish that my Son continue to occupy my Land after my Wife’s death if my Landlord the Vicar will kindly consent to such an arrangement

And I appoint my said Wife Sole Executrix of this my Will

In Witness whereof I the said Francis Wilford the Testator have hereunto set my hand this fifth day of March one thousand eight hundred and sixty two

Signed published and declared by the said Francis Wilford the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses And we do hereby certify that the above Will was read over in the presence of the said Testator before the execution thereof by him and that he seemed to understand the contents thereof

Proved at Leicester the eighteenth day of December 1866 by the oath of Dinah Wilford the Relict of the deceased the sole Executrix to whom Administration was granted

The Testator Francis Wilford was late of Abb Kettleby in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the seventh day of September 1866 at Abb Kettleby aforesaid

At Leicester on the Sixteenth day of February 1882 Administration (with the Will Annexed) of the personal estate of the said Francis Wilford deceased left unadministered by the said Dinah Wilford Widow deceased whilst living the Relict, the Sole Executrix and Residuary Legatee for Life named in the said Will was granted to Sarah Collett Widow the Daughter one of the Residuary Legatees substituted in the said Will she having been first sworn

The said Dinah Wilford having died Intestate
