The last will & Testament of Ralph Whittle of Harby in the County of Leicester being in perfect sense & memory December 2 1648
First I bequeath my Soul to God that gave it & my body to the grave
Item I give to Ann my wife for long as she shall live her … with my son James & £2 10s a yeare to be payd her by the same James att foure severall quarters of the yeare beginning immediately after my death
Item I give to my sonn James his three sonns viz to Ralph Whittle & to Tho: Whittle & to James Whittle one heifer a peece
Item I give unto my sonn James this house I dwell in & that of James Chams which I purchased of him
Item I give to my sonn Tho: my land att Scawford & my land att Hose
Item I give to be equally divided betwixt my sonn James & my sonn Tho. all the rest of my goods & chattles
Item I will that if I should depart before the terme of yeares on Scawford land be expired that James shall truly pay to my sonn Thomas the rent answerable to yeares … like behind
