I Ann Whittaker of Stathern in the County of Leicester the wife of George Whittaker Lacemaker of Stathern in the said County hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament

Whereas by indenture bearing date the 18th day of June 1867 a Settlement was made in contemplation of my marriage with my said husband and the sum of £410 3 per cent Reduced Annuities was settled in trust for my separate use for life and to be disposed of or willed by me as I should see fit I hereby appoint George Whittaker of Stathern aforesaid sole executor of this my Will

I give and bequeath to my sister Sarah Frisby of Stathern wife of Thomas Frisby or her heirs executors and assigns the sum of Eighty Pounds

I give and bequeath to my brother Lank Brewin of Radford in the County of Nottingham Miller the sum of Sixty Pounds but if the said Lank Brewin be dead then I give and bequeath this last named sum of Sixty Pounds to my sister the aforesaid Sarah Frisby

I give and bequeath to my brother John Brewin of Grimston in the County of Leicester Farmer or his heirs executors and assigns the sum of Nineteen Pounds Nineteen Shillings

I give and bequeath to Ann Jane Smith wife of John Smith Gardener Sheffield or her heirs executors and assigns the sum of Nineteen Pounds Nineteen Shillings

I give and bequeath to Mary Miller wife of Russel Miller Gardener late of Sydenham or her heirs executors and assigns the sum of Nineteen Pounds Nineteen Shillings

I give and bequeath to Francis Stoor Policeman Sheffield the sum of Nineteen Pounds Nineteen Shillings

I give and bequeath to the children of my niece Sarah Wright late wife of William Wright of Winthorpe in manner following that is to say to Mary Ann Wright the sum of Nineteen Pounds Nineteen Shillings to Sarah Jane Wright the sum of Nineteen Pounds Nineteen Shillings to James Wright the sum of Nineteen Pounds Nineteen Shillings to Harriet Wright the sum of Nineteen Pounds Nineteen Shillings and to Eliza Wright the sum of Nineteen Pounds Nineteen Shillings And I desire the aforesaid Sarah Frisby or her heirs executors and assigns to invest the five last named sums bequeathed respectively to Mary Ann Wright, Sarah Jane Wright, James Wright, Harriet Wright and Eliza Wright in the Savings Bank in their respective names and for their several benefits and the several sums to remain there at Interest until the youngest attains the age of Eighteen Years And I further will and direct in the event of one or more of the said children dying before the youngest attain that age that the sum invested for his or her benefit be divided in equal proportions amongst the remainder

And I enjoin my husband the said George Whittaker to pay the foregoing Legacies and to settle all my affairs within Twelve calendar Months from the time of my decease

In witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand this twenty second day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty seven

Signed by the said Ann Whittaker as her last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses

Proved at Leicester the Seventeenth day of August 1868 by the Oath of George Whittaker the husband of the deceased the sole Executor to whom Administration was granted limited to all such personal estate and effects as the deceased by virtue of a certain Indenture of Settlement bearing date the twenty sixth day of June 1867 (in the Will erroneously said to be date the eighteenth day of June 1867) had a right to appoint or dispose of and has in and by her said Will approved or disposed of accordingly but no further or otherwise

The Testatrix Ann Whittaker (Wife of the said George Whittaker) was late of Stathern in the County of Leicester and died on the ninth day of June 1868 at Stathern aforesaid
