1829 Ann Hopkins to John Stockdale Hardy NP Special Proxy Dated 4th May 1829

Whereas Elizabeth Watts late of Nether Broughton in the County and Archdeaconry of Leicester Widow sometime since died intestate without issue or Father leaving as her next of kin Ann Hopkins of the Borough of Northampton Widow and as parties entitled to distribution of her personal Estate and Effects three Brothers and two Sister and two children of a Sister deceased

Now Know all Men by the Presents that I the above named Ann Hopkins the natural and lawful Mother and only next of kin of the above named Elizabeth Watts deceased for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto especially moving do hereby renounce the letters of Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased and to the end that this my renunciation may have its due effect in Law I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint John Stockdale Hardy Notary Public the Senior exercent Proctor General of the Archdeaconry of Leicester to be my true and lawful Proctor for me and in my name to appear before the Worshipful Christopher Hodgson Master of Arts Commissary of the Right Reverend Father in God John by divine permission Lord Bishop of Lincoln in and for the Archdeaconry of Leicester lawfully constituted his Surrogate or some other Competent Judge in this behalf to exhibit this my special Proxy and procure the same and the renunciation herein contained to be admitted and enacted and further to do and receive what unto Law and Justice shall appertain in and concerning the Premises and whatsoever my said Proctor shall do or lawfully cause to be done herein I do hereby promise to ratify and hold for form and value
