Elizabeth Wakeling of Long Clawson 1891 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Wakeling of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Widow

I give and bequeath to my sister Ann Squires an Annuity of Twelve pounds during her life to commence from my death and be paid quarterly

I give and bequeath to my sister Frances Walker during her life the interest at Four per cent of Three hundred pounds to be paid to her half yearly and after her death the said principal thereof to be equally divided between her surviving children

In like manner I give and bequeath to my sister Eliza Blowfield during her natural life the interest of Three hundred pounds to be paid to her half yearly

I give to my niece Kezia Harvey and my two nephews John Squires and Arthur Squires the sum of Fifty pounds each

I give and bequeath to my two Nephews John Henry Shilcock and Robert Shilcock the sum of Three hundred pounds each

My linen and wearing apparel I bequeath to the four daughters of my said Sister Frances Walker

And I direct that the remainder of my household goods chattels and effects (except all the furniture that is in the parlour at the time of my death which I give to my said nephew Robert Shilcock) be sold and the proceeds thereof equally divided between my two executors and the five children of my said sister Frances

I charge the above legacies and bequests on an Estate in the parish of Nether Broughton bequeathed by my late husband And I hereby authorize my executors hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease to convert the said Estate into money by sale mortgage or any way they shall think fit for carrying out the purposes of my Will

And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate (after payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the aforesaid legacies and bequests) I bequeath the same to my said executors and the children of my sister Frances Walker in equal shares

And I hereby appoint my nephews John Henry Shilcock and Robert Shilcock trustees and executors of this my Will

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fifteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine

Signed by the said Elizabeth Wakeling the testatrix as her last Will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses

Proved at Leicester on the twelfth day of November 1891 by the Oaths of John Henry Shilcock and Robert Shilcock the Nephews the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testatrix Elizabeth Wakeling was late of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Widow and died on the twenty second day of October 1891 at Long Clawson aforesaid
