This is the last Will and Testament of me William Thraves of The Lodge Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer

I appoint Hanson Braithwaite of Stathern aforesaid Farmer and William Green of Harby in the said County of Leicester Gentleman (hereinafter called “my Trustees”) to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will

I give to my Wife Annie Sophia Levesley Thraves the legacy of Fifty Pounds and to my Daughter Gertude Mary Louisa Green the legacy of One hundred Pounds and I give all my plate linen china glass books picture prints furniture and other household effects to my said Wife absolutely

I give devise and bequeath all my real estate and all the residue of my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Trustees Upon Trust to sell call in and convert into money the same or such part thereof as shall not consist of money and with and out of the monies produced of such sale calling in and conversion and with and out of my ready money to pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and the legacies bequeathed by this my Will or any Codicil thereto

And Upon Trust to invest the residue of the said monies with power for my Trustees from time to time to vary such investments and out of the Income arising therefrom to pay to my said Wife for her life so long as she shall remain my Widow the sum of Fifteen Shillings a week and during the same period to accumulate and invest any surplus Income with power nevertheless to resort to such accumulation to make good in any year any deficiency there may arise in the weekly sum hereinbefore provided for my said Wife and upon the re-marriage of my said Wife I give her a legacy of Fifty Pounds

And upon the death or remarriage of my said Wife which event shall first happen I direct my Trustees to stand possessed of the said residuary trust funds and any accumulation of income and the investments for the time being representing the same In Trust for my Daughter the said Gertrude Mary Louisa Green absolutely

Provided always that in case my said Daughter should then be dead then I give the said residuary trust funds to all her children living at the death or remarriage of my said Wife in equal shares Provided also that in case my said Daughter shall be dead without leaving children living at the time of the death or re-marriage of my said Wife, then I direct my Trustees to divide my said residuary trust funds equally between such of my nephews and nieces hereinafter named as shall be living at the time of the death or re-marriage of my said Wife namely William Lambert of Wymondham the youngest son of my Sister Mary Ann Lambert, Hugh Eayrs of Sandbach, Crewe the youngest son of my Sister Jane Eayrs Clara Mills the eldest daughter of my Sister Grace Almond Samuel Mackley of Barnsley the son of my Sister Ruth Mackley Ellen Crossland and Lizzie Bashforth the daughters of my Sister Sarah Streets of Chapletown Sheffield Olive the Daughter of my Brother Ingram Thraves of Nottingham Cyril George Clamp of Sutton in the Vale the son of George Clamp late of Stathern and Stanley Claude Clamp of Stathern the Younger son of William Clamp late of Stathern aforesaid

And I hereby revoke all former Wills and testamentary dispositions made by me

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me William Thraves of The Lodge Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer which Will bears date the Tenth day of January One thousand nine hundred and eighteen

I hereby empower my Trustees in their sole discretion during the widowhood of my said wife and after paying her the weekly sum of Fifteen shillings as provided for in my said Will to apply any part of the remainder of the income arising from the investments representing my residuary estate and any accumulations of Interest for the benefit of my daughter Gertrude Mary Louisa Green

And in all other respects I confirm my said Will
