This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Swain of Long Clawson, in the County of Leicester, framework knitter
I desire to be decently interred at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named
And as to my worldly goods, whatsoever and wheresoever, whether real estate or personal estate, or of what nature, kind, or quality soever the same may be, after payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses I do hereby give, bequeath, and devise the same unto my son Thomas Roberts Swain absolutely
And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said son Thomas Roberts Swain sole executor of this my last will and testament
In witness whereof I have, to this my last will and testament set my hand this fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four

Let a Probate be made to Thomas Robert Swain of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Baker the sole Executor named in the Will of the deceased
He having been first duly sworn to the truth and faithful performance of the Will as usual and to the truth of the usual affidavit for the Inland Revenue Office that the goods chattels and credits of the deceased without deducting anything on account of debts due or owing by him therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of Two hundred Pounds and that the Testator died on the Twenty Seventh day of February last past
