Stevenson John 1701 of Scalford Will

John Stevenson of Scalford 1701 Will and Inventory

Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Archives PR/T/1701/41

Throughout this will says Steemson, apart from two places where it has been amended to Stevenson, although it is not clear if these are contemporary amendments.  The inventory says Stimson.  The testator has, however, signed the will and used the surname Stevenson.  The parish registers record the burial as John Stevenson.  Both Stevenson and Stimson have been put in the index.
