Thomas Sisson of Long Clawson 1734 Will

In The Name of God Amen I Thomas Sisson of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Gentleman being in health of body and of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding praised be God for the Same do make and ordaine this my Last Will and Testament in manner following

First I resign my Soul to God who gave it me and my body I committ to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors herein after Named

And as for Such Temporal Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose of the Same as followes viz

I give and Devise all my Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever Situate Standing lying and being in Long Clawson aforesaid unto my dear and Loving wife Ann Sisson for and during the Term of her Natural Life and from and after her decease Then as touching and concerning All that Messuage or Tenement and all other my Closes and Lands thereunto belonging in Long Clawson aforesd which I hold by Mortgage of and from [blank] Hawley together with all my right interest and property therein unto my Son John Sisson To hold to him his heirs Executors Administrators and Assignes for ever

And as touching and concerning all that Messuage or Tenement Lands and Comons thereunto belonging Situate Standing lying and being in Long Clawson aforesd which I bought and purchased of and from John Wright and which was late the Estate of John Cope deceased as also all other my Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever in Long Clawson aforesaid I give and devise the Same unto my Said Son John Sisson his heirs an Assignes for ever

Item I give and Devise all my Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever Situate Standing lying an being in Hickling in the County of Nottingham unto my aforesd dear and Loving Wife Ann Sisson for and during the Term of her Natural Life and from and after her decease I give and Devise the same unto my Son James Sisson and his heirs and Assignes for ever

An Whereas I have by good Conveyance and Assurance in the Law Settled two closes and a pingle thereunto belonging Situate lying and being in Stonesby in the County of Leicester aforesd called by the Names of the hither and Far Water Furrow Closes upon my Son Thomas Sisson for and during the Term of his Natural Life and afterwards upon his Issue (if he has any) Now Therefore in case my Said Son Thomas Sisson shall happen to dye and leave no issue of his body begotten Then my Will and Mind is and I give and Devise one of the Said two Closes called the Far Close and the Said pingle thereunto adjoyning and belonging unto my Son Joseph Sisson and his heirs for ever and also the other of the said two Closes commonly called the hither Close I give and Devise unto my Son James Sisson and his heirs for ever

Item I give and bequeath unto my two Daughters Elizabeth and Sarah Sisson the Sum of one hundred and Twenty pounds apeice to be paid to them within one year after my decease

Item I give & bequeath unto my Son Joseph Sisson the Sum of one hundred and Thirty pounds to be paid to him within one year after my decease

Item I give & bequeath unto my Said Wife my two best beds and bedding thereunto belonging for her Life and after her decease I give the best of the Said two beds & bedding to my aforesaid Daughter Elizabeth and the other I give to my Said Daughter Sarah

I also give to my Said Son Joseph one other of my Beds and bedding

Item I give & bequeath unto my three Sons Henry Thomas & William Sisson one Shilling apeice

Item all the rest of my Goods Chattells Cattle and Personal Estate whatsoever my debts Legacies and funeral expences being first thereout paid and discharged I give and bequeath to my aforesaid Sons John & James Sisson whom I hereby Appoint Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made Declaring this to be my last Will & Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Sisson the Testator have hereunto Sett my hand and Seal the Seventh day of November in the year of our Lord 1733
