John Rouse of Hose 1888 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Rouse of Hose in the County of Leicester Farmer as follows

I give and bequeath All and singular my Household Furniture Farming Stock Implements of Husbandry and all other my Personal Estate Unto my daughter Sarah my daughter Mary Alice Smith Wife of Joseph Smith and William Shipman of Hose aforesaid Farmer who I appoint executors of this my Will Upon trust to permit and suffer my said daughter Sarah to have the use and enjoyment of All my Personal Estate for and during the term of her natural life for her own absolute use and benefit (she finding a home for and paying my daughter Lavina the sum of six pounds per year until she marries) and upon her death I direct my said Executors or the survivor of them to sell my said Personal Estate and divide the proceeds equally between such of daughters the said Mary Alice Smith Emily Stokes wife of John Stokes and the said Lavina Rouse as shall be living at the death of my said daughter Sarah but if only one be living then the whole shall be paid to her

But in case they all shall be dead when my daughter Sarah dies I direct my said Personal Estate shall be equally divided between my two Sons Wallace and Frederick but if only one be living he shall take all

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this eleventh day of February One thousand eight hundred and eighty six

Signed by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in our presence who in his presence at his request and in each others presence have subscribed our names as witnesses

Proved at Leicester on the third day of May 1888 by the Oaths of Sarah Rouse Spinster the Daughter and William Shipman two of the Executors to whom Administration was granted Power reserved of making the like Grant to Mary Alice Smith (Wife of Joseph Smith) the Daughter also the other Executor

The Testator John Rouse was late of Hose in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the twenty eighth day of October 1887 at Hose aforesaid
