In the name of god Amen the xith daye of December in ao dni 1589 and in the two & thirtieth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Ladye Elizabeth by the grace of god of Englande France & Irelande Quene defendresse of the fayth I Willm Robenson of Claxton in the Countye of Leicester husbandman being sicke in bodye but of perfect remembrance god be praysed do make and ordayne this my last will and testament in maner and forme following

First I bequeathe my soule unto allmightye god trusting to be saved by a lyvelye faythe in Chryste Jesu & my bodye to be buryed in the churche or churche yarde of Claxton

Itm I geve to the pore of Claxton xiid

Itm I geve to Edward Robenson my sone one red hefer with a quarter of seede pease

Item I geve to Anne Marratte my daughter one ewe and a lambe

Itm I geve to Bryan Robenson my sone one graye fyllye the halfe oxgange of land lying within theast end feelds of Claxton & all the feeldes thereunto belonging & the same to be sowen the first yeare by my executors paying yearlye ten shillings to my wyfe & Nicolas my sone

And also my will is that Bryan my sone shall have the cotage house being in theast end of Claxton now in the tenure & occupacon of Richard Wood & one other halfe oxgange lying within the west end feeldes of Claxton during my leace he to enter uppon & have the cotage house & the halfe oxgange of land in the west end feeldes of Claxton at the end of Richarde Wood his lease paying lykewyse yearlye other ten shillings to my wyfe & Nicolas my sone

Itm I geve to Mychell my sone one … calfe and ten pounds whereof fyve pounds to be payed when he shall be apprentyse the rest when he is twentye & one yeares of age

Itm I geve to Elizabeth my daughter ten pounds to be payed within two yeares next after my decease or at the daye of her mariage yf yt be before thend of those two yeares

Itm I geve to Johne my daughter one red heafer & ten punds to be payed at the daye of her maryage or within fower yeares next after my decease

Itm I geve to Grace my daughter one pyde heafer & ten poundes to be payed at the daye of her mariage or within six yeares after my decease

Itm I geve to John Sympson one ewe

Itm I geve to Willm Marrat the sone of Richard Marrat one ewe and a lambe

Itm I geve to every one of my godchildren fower pence

Itm I geve to my Brother Bryan his children one ewe lambe amongst them

Itm I geve to Willm Robenson the sone of John Robenson one ewe lambe

Itm I geve to Howeys my wyfe my whole house houlde stuffe

Itm I geve to Howeys my wyfe & Nicolas my sone the lease of my farme, provided alwayes that when she shall marrye or departe this mortall lyfe, that then she shall leave the lease, the draughte, with the cartes & carte geares plowes and plow geares, hovells & the whole croppe to Nicolas my sone

The rest of my goods unbequeathed I geve to Howeys my wyfe & Nicolas my son whom I make iyont executors of this my last will & testament

Itm I ordaine & make Bryan Robenson & John my breethren over seers of this my last will & testament
