John Mintin of Harby 1716 Will and Inventory

In the name of God Amen I John Mintin of Harby in the county of Leicester husbandman being sick & weake in Body but of sound & perfect mind & memory doe make & ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner following
Imprimis I commend my soul into the hands of Allmighty God my Creator & my body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be decently interred att the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named hopeing through the onely Merritts and mediation of my Blessed Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ for a Joyfull resurrection to life Eternall
Allsoe my will & mind is that all my Debts whatsoever & my funerall Expences shall be first paid and discharged
And then I give & Bequeath to my Eldest sister Mary Mintin the sume of five pounds of goods & Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid her by my Executor hereinafter named out of my personal Estate within Two years next after my decease
Allsoe I Give & Bequeath to my Loveing Mother halfe a Crown and to my Sister Jane Fox halfe a Crown
And Allsoe to my Sister Elizabeth Marriott I Give & Bequeath one Shilling
And further I Doe hereby Give and Bequeath to my Loveing brother Thomas Mintin All and every of My Goods Chattells Quick Stock Cropp of Corne & Hay Implements of Husbandry rights Credditts & personal Estate whatsoever & wheresoever the same shall or may be found (Except one moiety or Equal halfe part of my household Goods which I Doe hereby give & appoint to my said Sister Mary Mintin) he paying all my debts funeral Expences & the Severall Legacies aforesaid
And Lastly I Doe hereby make Ordain Constitute & appoint my said Brother Thomas Mintin sole Executor of this My last Will & Testament hereby revokeing all former wills & Testaments whatsoever by mee att any time heretofore made
In Wittnesse I the said John Mintin have to this my last Will & Testament sett my hand & Seale this Twelfth Day of July Anno Domini 1715
