Charles Milnes of Nether Broughton 1834 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles Milnes of Broughton in the County of Leicester Bricklayer

I do hereby order and direct that all my Just debts Funeral and testamentary expences shall be fully paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently may be after my Decease

First I give and bequeath unto Frances my dearly beloved Wife all that House or Tenement that I am now possessed of for her natural Life to live in and the use of the Household Furniture Beds and Bedding unless my said Wife should Marry again, then I give and bequeath unto my Son Isaac whom I appoint my sole Executor at my Wifes Death or Marriage all that House or Tenement and the Household Furniture, Beds and Bedding to be disposed of as he thinks proper, But my said Son Isaac shall pay to Mr [whole line missing in a fold] have on a Mortgage the said Sum to be paid by Lady-day 1830

And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies and bequests and executors by me in any ways before named willed bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Twenty Third Day of October 1828

In the Court of the Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry of Leicester

On the fourth day of February one thousand eight hundred and thirty four before the Reverend William Greenwood Clerk and Surrogate in the House Burbidge called or known by the name of the “George Hotel” situate in Melton Mowbray in the County and Archdeaconry of Leicester present the subscribed Notary Public

A Business of filing for safe Custody in the Registry of this Court the last Will and Testament of Charles Milnes late of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Bricklayer deceased

Upon which day appeared personally Isaac Milnes of Nether Broughton aforesaid Bricklayer and alleged himself to be the natural and lawful son and devisee in Remainder named in the said last Will and Testament of the said Charles Milnes deceased and prayed that the said Will might be deposited in the Registry of this Court for safe Custody whereupon the Surrogate having administered an oath to the said appearer to the effect aforesaid and also that the Goods Chattels and herits of the said deceased did not amount in Value to the sum of twenty Pounds decreed such original Will to be filed in the Court and an attested Copy thereof to be delivered out to the Appearer
