William Marriott of Hose 1874 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Marriott of Hose in the County of Leicester Gardener and Seedsman

I direct my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be paid out of my personal estate by my executrix hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

I give and bequeath to my dear Wife Sarah Marriott all my personal Estate and Effects (except as hereinafter mentioned) and also my real Estate situate in the parish of Hose aforesaid for her to receive the interest and Rents of the same half yearly for her own use and benefit absolutely during the term of her natural life if she should so long continue my Widow but if she marry again she shall than have no longer any claim or demand on any thing of which I may die possessed

I give to my three children Frederick Marriott Hannah Edgson and Emma Jackson the sum of Five pounds each to be paid to them by my Wife Sarah Marriott at my decease

After the decease or second marriage of my said Wife I will that all my household goods and chattels be equally divided among my said three children

I also bequeath to my daughter Hannah the sum of Two hundred pounds and to my daughter Emma I give the sum of Five pounds yearly the said Legacy and Annuity to be paid to each respectively by my Son Frederick out of my real estate at Hose within twelve calendar months then next ensuing the day of my Wife’s decease And at the death of my daughter Emma Jackson I leave the sum of One hundred pounds to be equally divided among her lawful children

To my Grandson George Marriott I give the sum of One hundred and fifty pounds the interest thereof to be applied towards bringing him up and putting him apprentice and if he should die before his coming of age I bequeath the same to my said three children Frederick Hannah and Emma share and share alike I also charge the aforesaid Legacies on my real Estate at Hose

As to the rest and residue of my real and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever I bequeath the same to my Son Frederick Marriott

And lastly I appoint my said Wife Executrix during the term of her natural life and after her decease I appoint my said Son Executor of this my Will

Proved at Leicester the twenty second day of August 1874 by the Oath of Sarah Marriott Widow the Relict of the deceased the Executrix for life named in the Will to whom Administration was granted

The Testator William Marriott was late of Hose in the County of Leicester Gardener and Seedsman and died on the twenty first day of January 1874 at Hose aforesaid
