Samuel Marriott of Hose 1800 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Samuel Marriott of Hose in the County of Leicester Grazier being mindful of my mortality do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say

First and principally I commend my Soul to God who gave it and my Body to the dust from whence it was taken to be decently interr’d at the Charge and discretion of my Executors herein after named and for and concerning my worldly Goods of which I may die possest I dispose thereof as Follows

I will that all my Just debts and Funeral expences be first discharged

I also give to my brother William Marriott one Shilling

All the residue of my goods Cattel Chattles and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever of all kinds I give to my three Sisters, Ann the wife of Richard Goodson, Frances the Wife of John Burnett and Elizabeth Marriott spinster to be divided equally amongst them share and share alike and I hereby nominate and appoint them the said Ann Goodson, Frances Burnett and Elizabeth Marriott Joint Executrixes of this my Will hereby revoking all former and other Wills at any time heretofore by me made confirming this only as my last Will and Testament

In Wittness whereof I the said Samuel Marriott the Testator hath hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty Second day of July one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety six

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator for and as his last Will and Testament in the presence of Us who have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other

Let probat be granted to Ann Goodson, Frances Burnet & Elizabeth Marriot, the joint Executrixes of the within will they being sworn to the due execution thereof & also made oath that the whole of the deceased’s personal estate at the time of his death did not amount to the sum of three hundred pounds
