Henry Marriott of Long Clawson 1733 Will and Inventory

In the Name of God Amen I Henry Marriott of Claxton Ales Long Clawson in the County of Leicester yeom being of sound And perfect health in Mind and Memory and Considering the uncertainty of this life Doe make And Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (That is to say)

Impris I give my Soul to God that gave it me And my body I comitt to the Earth to be decently interred at the Discretion of my Execor hereinafter named and as for my Worldly Estate which it has pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose thereof as follows

Impris I give and devise unto my son Henry Marriott And his Heires all that one Land lying and being in the East end feilds of Claxton Ales Long Clawson aforesaid And Comonly called or known by the name of Goodwins land

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Jallands the wife of Richard Jallands the sume of One Shilling

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Anne Marriott the sume of One Shilling

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Cam the wife of John Cam of Claxton ales Long Clawson aforesaid flaxdresser the sume of Twenty pounds of lawfull money of Great Brittain to be paid unto her within One year after my decease by me Execor hereinafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Dorothy Marriott the sume of Twenty And Six pounds of lawfull money of Great Brittain to be paid unto her within One year after my Decease by my said Execor

Item I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Dorothy Marriott all those Household Goods that were her Sister Mary White’s now in my possession

Item I give and devise unto my Son Richard Marriott and his Heires All that part of my Homestead Adjoyning to my Son Henry’s house As it is now divided And Also all that one quarter of an oxgang of Land lying and being in the West end feilds of Claxton Ales Long Clawson aforesaid which I bought of Catherine Marriott and her son Henry Marriott of the City of London And Also all that one quarter of an Oxgang of Land which was given me in And by the last Will and Testament of Robert Kirkby late of Saxelby in the said County of Leicester Clerk deced

Item All the rest residue and remainder of my real and personall Estate whatsoever not herein before by me devised bequeathed And disposed off I give devise and bequeath unto my said son Richard Marriott And his Heires and Assigns for ever (My Debts Legacies and funerall Expensed being first paid And discharged by my Execor hereinafter named)

And I doe hereby make and Ordain my said Son Richard Marriott full and Sole Execor of this my last Will And Testament revoking all former Wills by me att any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said Henry Marriott the Elder The Testator have hereunto putt my hand and Seal this Twenty ninth day of Aprill Anno Dni 1731
