In the Name of god Amen I William Mann the Elder of Hose in the County of Leicester Farmer being in perfect health And of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding, But Considering the Uncertainty of this life do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to Say)

First of all I give my Soul to Almighty God who gave it me And my body I Commit to the Earth to be decently Interred at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named

And as for my Worldly Estate Which hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose thereof as follows

In the first place I give Devise and bequeath unto my Dear and loving Wife Elizabeth Mann and her Assignes one Annuity or Yearly rent charge of Twelve pounds and Twelve Shillings of good and lawfull money of Great Britain to be issuing and payable out of all that New Inclosed piece or parcell of Land lying and being within the Mannor or Lordship of Hickling in the County of Nottingham in a certain field there called the Wood field containing by Estimation Thirty Acres or thereabout and which was lately allotted and Awarded to me in lieu of and in full compensation of Two oxgangs of Land and Common right to the same belonging And now in my own use and Occupation free of all Taxes charges and Incumbrances To Have hold receive and take and Enjoy the said Annuity or Yearly rent charge of Twelve pounds and Twelve Shillings free of all Taxes charges and Incumbrances to my Said Wife Elizabeth Mann and her Assignes for and during the Term of her Natural life payable half yearly that is to say on the Tenth day of October and the fifth day of April by even and Equal portions The first payment thereof to be made on Either of the said days as shall first and next happen after my decease And I do by this my said Will Signifye and Declare that the aforesaid Annuity or Yearly rent charge so given to my said Wife Elizabeth Mann by me as aforesaid Shall be had and taken by my said wife Elizabeth Mann In full discharge and Satisfaction of all her right title or Interest of in or to the said peices or parcel of New Inclosed Land Either by Settlement Dower or thirds or otherwise howsoever And in case my said Wife Elizabeth Mann Shall at any time or times after my decease make any such claim therein and thereout That then and from thence her said Annuity or Yearly rent charge shall cease and be Utterly Void to all intents and purposes Whatsoever Any thing hereinbefore contained to the contrary thereof Notwithstanding

And Also I give and bequeath unto my Said Wife Elizabeth Mann the Sum of five pounds to be paid her immediately after my decease by my Executor hereinafter named to buy her mourning

And Also I give and Devise (from and immediately after and Expectant on the Death of my said Wife Elizabeth Mann) All that messuage Cottage or Tenement and Homestead thereunto belonging with the Appurtenances Scituate Standing and being in Hickling aforesaid in the Said County of Nottingham heretofore in the Tenure or occupation of my Brother George Mann Unto my Son William Mann the Younger his heirs and Assignes for ever

And Also I give and Devise (Subject and chargeable nevertheless with my Said Wife Elizabeth Mann her Said Annuity or Yearly rent charge of Twelve pounds and Twelve Shillings to be paid her in Manner as aforesaid) All that the said New Inclosed piece or parcel of Land with the Appurtenances lying and being within the said Mannor or Lordship of Hickling aforesaid in a certain field there called the Wood field containing by Estimation Thirty Acres or thereabouts and which was lately Allotted and Awarded to me as aforesaid Unto my three Sons George Mann the said William Mann the Younger and John Mann their Heirs and Assignes for ever to be Equally Divided Amongst them Share and Share alike And to take and Enjoy the Same New Inclosed piece or parcel of Land and premises as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants

And Also I give and bequeath Unto my three Daughters Mary Mann, Elizabeth Mann, and Ann Mann the sum of one Hundred pounds of good and lawfull Money of Great Britain to Each of them my Said Daughters to be paid to them and Each and Every of them within Twelve Months next after my decease by my said Executor

And Lastly all the rest and residue of my Household Goods other Goods Stock Cattle Chattells Implements of Husbandry rights Credits and Personal Estate of What kind nature or quality soever (My Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences being first paid and discharged) I give and bequeath unto my said Son George Mann for his own use and benefit Whom I do hereby Appoint full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the Said William Mann the father and Testator have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Fourth day of March in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Seven

Signed Sealed Published and Delivered by the said William Mann the father and Testator to be his last Will and Testament In the presence of use the Witnesses Under Written who have at his request And in his presence And in the presence of Each other set our Names as Witnesses to the due Execution of this his said Will
