In the Name of God Amen I Ann Kenderdine late of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the County of Leicester but now on a Visit at William Bardoes of Little Aston in the Parish of Shenstone in the County of Stafford Yeoman Widow Relict Devisee in Fee named in and Sole Executrix of the last Will and Testament of William Kenderdine late of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid in the said County of Leicester Yeoman deceased Pursuant and according to the Power and authority to me in that behalf given and Preserved in and by certain Indentures of Lease and Release being a Settlement made on my Marriage with the said William Kenderdine bearing date respectively the seventeenth and Eighteenth day of August and which was in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty three The Release being of three parts and made or Expressed to be made between me by my then name of Ann Sibson of Gopsall in the County of Leicester Spinster of the first part the said William Kenderdine by the Name and description of William Kenderdine of Gopsall aforesaid Yeoman of the second part and William Parker Sibson of Thrussington in the said Count of Leicester Yeoman and Robert Whitehead of Mountsorrel in the same County Gentleman of the Third part and by vertue of the same Indentures and of all other Powers and Authorities whatsoever to me in any manner given and Reserved or in anywise Enabling me hereunto And also by Vertue of the Power and Authority to me in any manner given in and by the last Will and Testament of my said late Husband William Kenderdine deceased Do by this present Writing purporting to be my last Will and Testament and duly executed in the Presence of and attested by three Credible Witnesses Give Devise limit direct appoint and dispose of all and singular my Freehold and personal Estate in manner and form following (that is to say)

I Give and Devise All Those several Closes pieces or parcels of Land and premises with their and every of their Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Claxton aforesaid otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid in the said County of Leicester and now or late in the Tenure or occupation of Thomas Morris his assigns or undertenants and which by vertue of an Act of Parliament obtained for the purpose of dividing and Inclosing the Open Fields and Commonable places in Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid in the said County of Leicester were allotted by the Commissioners appointed by the said Act to my said late Husband William Kenderdine or his Trustees in lieu of and in full Compensation of … the Lands and Hereditaments mentioned and described in the said before in part Recited Indentures And also all other the Land and premises with the appurtenances whatsoever which I have a right and Power to dispose of under and by Vertue of the Power and Authority Given and Reserved in any manner whatsoever in and by the said before in part Recited Indentures And also All That my Messuage or Tenement and ancient Home Close to the said Messuage adjoyning and belonging And all my Estate right Title and Interest of in and to a certain Close commonly called Golfe Close and in and to three certain Closes commonly called Musdales Closes and premises with their and every of their appurtenances thereto belonging situate standing lying and being in Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid in the said County of Leicester and now in the possession or occupation of the said Thomas Morris or his undertenant And also All other my real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever which I shall or may be possessed of or intitled unto at the time of my decease unto William Bardoe of Little Aston in the Parish of Shenstone in the County of Stafford Yeoman and my Niece Mary Bardoe Wife of the said William Bardoe and their assigns during the joint natural lives and the live [sic] of the Survivor and longest liver of them

And from and after the decease of them the said William Bardoe and Mary his Wife Then I Give and Devise all and every the said before mentioned Lands messuage or Tenement and premises so Given and Devised to them for their lives as aforesaid unto Elizabeth Ann Bardoe daughter of the said William and Mary Bardoe and her assigns for and during the Term of her natural life And from and after her decease Then I Give and Devise the same and every Part thereof unto all and every the Child or Children of the Body of the said Elizabeth Ann Bardoe lawfully to be begotten and to his her and their Heirs and Assigns for Ever If more than one Equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to take as Tenants in Common and not as Joint tenants

But in case the said Elizabeth Ann Bardoe shall happen to depart this life without any Child or Children of her Body lawfully Begotten living at the time of her decease Then I Give and  Devise all and every the aforesaid Lands Messuage or Tenement and premises with the appurtenances to James Bardoe Son of the said William Bardoe and Mary Bardoe his heirs and Assigns for Ever Subject nevertheless to and Chargeable with the payment of the sum of One hundred Pounds to William Kenderdine Son of my late Husband William Kenderdine at the time and in manner as directed and appointed in and by the last Will and Testament of my said late Husband William Kenderdine deceased And also Subject to the Payment of the several Legacies or sums of money to the several persons at the time hereinafter mentioned and I do hereby Charge and make Chargeable my said before mentioned Lands and premises so Given and Devised to the said William Bardoe and Mary his Wife with the payment thereof accordingly

Item I Give and Bequeath unto Thomas Lewin of Thrussington in the County of Leicester Farmer and Ann Lewin his Wife the sum of Fifty Pounds

Item I Give and Bequeath unto the Reverend William Lewin of Seagrove in the County of Leicester the sum of Ten Pounds

Item I Give and Bequeath unto John Lewin Brother of the said William Lewin the sum of Ten pounds

Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Niece Jane Garner the sum of Forty Pounds

Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Nephew Thomas Sibson the sum of Ten Pounds

Item I Give and Bequeath unto William Sibson of Thrussington Farmer the sum of Five Pounds

Item I Give to Joseph F..kes now a Soldier and Son of Joseph F..kes of Leicester the sum of Five Pounds

Item I Give and Bequeath to Jane Collins daughter of Daniel Collins of Roadley in the County of Leicester the sum of Five Pounds

Item I Give and Bequeath to Elizabeth Sibson Daughter of Thomas Sibson of Roadley aforesaid if living at my decease the sum of Five Pounds Which said several before mentioned Legacies I Will and direct shall be Paid by the said William Bardoe and Mary his Wife in Twelve months next after my decease

Item I Give and Bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what Nature kind or sort soever which I shall or may be Possessed of or intitled unto at the time of my decease after payment of my Just Debts funeral Expences and the Charges and Expences of Proving and Executing this my Will unto the said William Bardoe and Mary Bardoe their Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever to and for their own Use and benefit

Item In pursuance of the Power and authority given and reserved to me in and by the last will and Testament of my said late Husband William Kenderdine I Give order direct and dispose of the said sum of one hundred Pounds therein left by my said Husband to his said Son William Kenderdine in manner therein mentioned as follows (that is to say)

I Give and Bequeath the said  sum of one hundred Pounds so far as I can or may or have a right to dispose of the same under and by Vertue of the last Will and Testament of my said Husband William Kenderdine deceased unto the said William Bardoe and Mary his wife to and for their own use and benefit

And Lastly I do hereby Make Nominate Constitute and appoint the said William Bardoe and Mary Bardoe his Wife Executor Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said Ann Kenderdine the Testatrix have to this my last Will and Testament contained in these two Sheets of Paper to the first side or Sheet of Paper have set my hand And to the second and last side or Sheet of Paper have set my hand and Seal the Tenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand and seven hundred and Ninety six

Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Ann Kenderdine the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto

He being duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the will as that the Testatrix’s Goods Chattels and Credits do not amount in value to the sum of Three hundred Pounds
