This is the last Will and Testament of me John Foster Jalland of Hose in the County of Leicester Farmer

I appoint my friends Simeon Colton of 111 Portland Road in the City of Nottingham Gentleman and William Hill of Saxondale in the County of Nottingham Farmer and Brickmaker (hereinafter referred to as my Trustees which expression shall extend to and include the survivor of them and the Trustees or Trustee for the time being of this my Will) to be the Executors and Trustees hereof

I Give to my daughter Ellen Mary Hunt (Wife of William Hunt) a legacy of Fifty pounds and I also confirm the gift (which I have made to her in my lifetime) of my Piano

I Give to my daughter Lizzie Eveline Lowe (Widow) the following of my household effects namely My horsehair Sofa and my horsehair arm-chair (both usually in my front sitting room) And also my marble-top washing stand and my dressing table and side table and two chests of drawers (all usually in my spare bedroom)

I Give to my brother Frank Jalland all my antique china (which has been in my family for many years) And also my oil painting of pony and two terriers

I Give to my daughter Georgina May Jackson (Wife of John James Jackson) all my watches jewellery personal ornaments books prints pictures silver linen and the rest and residue of my furniture and household effects

I Give Devise Bequeath and Appoint all the rest residue and remainder of the estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever of or to which I shall die seised possessed or entitled or over which I shall at the time of my decease have a general power of Testamentary disposition Unto my Trustees Upon Trust that they shall sell call in and convert into money my Residuary Estate or such part thereof as shall not consist of money and shall out of the moneys produced by such sale calling in and conversion and out of my ready money pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and the legacies bequeathed by this my Will or any Codicil hereto and shall stand possessed of the residue of the said moneys In Trust for my daughter the said Lizzie Eveline Lowe and my Grandson Charles Henry Hunt (Son of the said Ellen Mary Hunt) in equal shares as tenants in common And I Direct that if either of them the said Lizzie Eveline Lowe or the said Charles Henry Hunt shall die in my lifetime without leaving issue living at my death then the whole of the said residue shall go to the survivor of them absolutely

I Empower my Trustees to carry on my farming and grazing business and any other business carried on by me immediately prior to my decease for the remainder of my tenancy of any farm or premises occupied by me at the time of my decease and for that purpose to employ such part of my personal estate as they may think proper without being responsible for any loss arising thereby And (subject to the provisions hereinbefore contained as to the said business or businesses) I Empower my Trustees to postpone the sale and conversion of any part of my estate for so long as they shall think fit And I Direct that the income of unconverted property shall from the time of my death go to the person or persons entitle to the corpus

I Authorise and Empower my Trustees absolutely to determine what articles pass under any specific bequest contained in this my Will or any Codicil hereto

I Declare that my Trustees may instead of acting personally employ and pay a solicitor or other Agent to transact any business or do any act required to be done in connection with the administration of my estate or the trusts hereby declared including the receipt and payment of money and shall be entitled to be allowed and paid all charges and expenses so incurred

And lastly I hereby revoke all former Wills and testamentary dispositions made by me and declared this to be my last Will
