This is the last Will and Testament of me Gervase Jackson of the parish of Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer

First I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid

I Give devise and bequeath unto my dear Wife Mary Jackson all and singular my Freehold House Land and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in the parish of Stathern aforesaid and also my live stock Corn Hay Farming Implements Household Furniture Monies securities for Monies personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and what nature and kind soever the same may be (subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses) for and during the term of her natural life provided she shall so long continue my Widow

And from and after her decease or second Marriage I then Give and devise my said Freehold House Land and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in the said Parish of Stathern unto my eldest Son Gervase Jackson his heirs and assigns for ever subject nevertheless to and charged and chargeable with the Mortgage and Interest payable on the same and also with the Legacies and annuity hereinafter mentioned

I Give and bequeath unto my five children Mary Welbourn, Elizabeth Ann, Harriet Martha and Frank Jackson The sum of Ten pounds each to be paid at the expiration of twelve calendar months after the decease of my Wife if at that period my youngest child that may then be living shall have attained the full age of twenty one years

I Give and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah Jackson one annuity or annual sum of Two pounds twelve shillings for and during the term of her natural life provided she shall continue unmarried to be paid to her by equal quarterly payments and the first payment thereof to be made at the expiration of three calendar months after my youngest child that may then be living shall have arrived at the age of twenty one years but should my said daughter at any time marry then I direct the said annuity and all future payments shall cease and determine and be no longer paid or payable but in the lieu thereof I then Give and bequeath unto my said daughter Hannah the sum of Five pounds to be paid to her at the time the before mentioned annuity shall cease And I do hereby charge and subject the said Freehold House land and appurtenances to and with the payment of the said legacies and annuity accordingly

And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever not hereinbefore disposed I Give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my eldest Son Gervase Jackson for his own absolute benefit and disposal

I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife Mary Jackson to be the Executrix for carrying this my last Will and Testament into effect And I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this to be my only last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Gervase Jackson the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand this first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine

Signed and acknowledged by the said Gervase Jackson the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us being present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our Names as Witnesses

Proved at Leicester the eleventh day of December 1866 by the oath of Mary Jackson Widow the Relict of the deceased the sole Executrix to who Administration was granted

The Testator Gervase Jackson was late of Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the seventeenth day of June 1866 at Stathern aforesaid
