This is the Last Will and Testament of me Louisa Howard of Old Dalby in the County of Leicester Dairy Keeper the Wife of Robert Allen Howard of the same place Clerk of Works

I revoke all wills and Testamentary Dispositions heretofore made by me

I appoint my said husband Robert Allen Howard my son Robert Allen Howard the younger and my daughter Mary Jane Howard (hereinafter called my Trustees) to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will

I devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate unto my Trustees Upon trust as and when they shall think fit to realise and convert into money so much thereof as shall not consist of money and shall with and out of the moneys provided by such sale and conversion and with and out of my ready money pay my debts funeral and testamentary expenses and any legacies bequeathed by this my Will or any Codicil hereto and shall invest the residue of the said moneys in such securities as they shall in their discretion think fit whether authorised by law or not with power for my Trustees to vary such investments from time to time and shall stand possessed of the said residuary trust moneys and the investments for the time being representing the same (hereinafter called the residuary trust funds) Upon the following trusts that is to say

In case my said husband shall at the time of my death be an undischarged bankrupt then in trust to retain the same in their hands and at their absolute discretion to pay the income therefrom to my said husband until he shall die or until whether by reason of his being undischarged from bankruptcy or by other operation of law or by reason of any act or thing done or to be done by him or otherwise the same shall or but for the present provision would belong or become payable or charged wholly or in part to or for the benefit of any other person or persons or company or government department or official and upon any of such acts or events coming into operation or upon his death I direct my Trustees to hold the same both as to capital and income in trust for my three children the said Robert Allen Howard the younger James Alfred Howard and the said Mary Jane Howard in such shares as my said husband shall by deed or Will appoint and in default of appointment I direct that so much of my furniture as was purchased from and is specified in the schedule supplied by Messrs JH Bradwell and son shall be divided between the said Robert Allen Howard the Younger and Mary Jane Howard in such equal shares as they shall agree between them

And as to the residue of my residuary trust funds for my said three children in the following shares namely one fifth to my son James Alfred Howard and the balance to my children the said Robert Allen Howard the Younger and Mary Jane Howard in equal shares

But in case my said husband shall not be an undischarged bankrupt at the time of my death then in trust both as to capital and income for my said husband absolutely

And in case my said husband shall after my death obtain his discharge from bankruptcy then on an order of discharge coming into effect both as to capital and income for my said husband absolutely

And I direct that my Trustees shall permit my said children Robert Allen Howard the younger and Mary Jane Howard to remain at home so long as they respectively shall remain unmarried and shall desire so to do free of all cost and expense to my said two children

And I declare that my Trustees may postpone the sale and conversion of any part of my real and personal estate for so long as they shall think fit and that the rents profits and income to accrue from and after my decease of and from such part of my estate as shall for the time being remain unsold and unconverted shall after payment thereout of all incidental expenses and outgoings be paid and applied to the person or persons to whom the income of the proceeds of such sale and conversion would for the time being be payable or applicable under this my will if such sale and conversion had been actually made

Signed by the said Louisa Howard the Testatrix as and for her last Will and testament (the interlineation between the sixth and seventh line on the previous page and the interlineation between the fifth and sixth lines on this page having both been previously made) by her making her mark (she being unable to write distinctly by reason of illness) in the presence of us both being present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

On the twenty fifth day of October 1918 Probate of this Will was granted at Leicester to Robert Allen Howard, the Husband, Robert Allen Howard the younger the Son, and Mary Jane Howard Spinster the Daughter, the Executors.

Louisa Howard with fixed place of abode at Old Dalby died there 30 August 1918.  Administration to Robert Allen Howard, grazier, Robert Allen Howard the younger, aircraft engineer, and Mary Jane Howard spinster, all of Old Dalby.
