James Hind of Long Clawson 1826 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me James Hind of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Grazier Humbly commending my Soul to the mercy of God thro’ our Lord Jesus Christ

I dispose of my property as follows

I devise All my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Friends Robert Goodacre of Long Clawson aforesaid And Henry Hind Brown of Melton Mowbray Currier their executors administrators and assigns for the term of Five hundred years Upon trust in the first place to pay my debts or so much thereof as my personal estate may not be adequate to discharge And upon further trust to raise and pay to my daughter Mary Hind an Annuity or yearly sum of Forty pounds for and during her life by equal half-yearly payments the first commencing at six months from my death, for her & own sole benefit, independent of the debts or control of any husband with whom she may happen to marry and her receipts alone to be sufficient discharges

And upon further trust at her death by Mortgage of all or any part of my said real estate, to raise the sum of One thousand Pounds and to pay the same to and amongst the children of my said Daughter share and share alike, as they attain twenty one and if but one child, wholly him or her at that age But in case she has no Issue or the same should die before her, leaving no children or child, then in trust to pay the same to any person or persons, as she may by her Will, notwithstanding her Coverture, give and direct

And, subject to the trusts aforesaid, I devise All my said Real Estate unto and to the use of my son James Hind his heirs and assigns for ever

I likewise give him All the residue of my personal estate and I appoint the said Robert Goodacre and Henry Hind Brown Executors of this my Will

In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal the eighth day of March One thousand and eight hundred and twenty four

Melton Mowbray Visitation Thursday 25th May 1826

Let a Probate be made to Henry Hind Brown of Melton Mowbray in the County of Leicester Gentleman the Surviving Executor name in the will of the deceased who died on the 5th day of February last past

He having been duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the Will as that the testator’s Goods Chattels and Credits without deducting any Debts owing by him therefrom did not amount in value to the Sum of Twenty Pounds
