In the Name of God Amen I Andrew Guy of Plungar in the County of Leicester Husbandman being of Sound Mind, Memory and Understanding praised be Almighty God for the same and considering the uncertainty of this Life and the certainty of Death Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) 

In the first place I resign my Soul in the Hands of Almighty God my Creator who gave it me and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named and as for such Temporal Estate as it hath please God to bestow upon me I give, devise, and bequeath of the same as follows (That is to say)

First I give and devise All my Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever, with their and every of their Appurtenances, situate, standing, lying and being in Plungar aforesaid or Elsewhere in the County of Leicester unto my Brother Richard Guy for and during the Term of his Natural Life Subject Nevertheless with the payment of One Annuity or Yearly Rent Charge of Thirty Pounds a Year unto my Dear and loving Wife Mary Guy for and during the Term of her Natural Life without any manner of deduction of abatement for Taxes or other payments whatsoever And I Will that the same be paid her by four Quarterly payments in the Year (That is to say) At the Feast of Saint Michael Archangel, Saint Thomas the Apostle, The Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Saint John the Baptist, by equal payments, the first payment thereof to be made at such of the said Days of Payment as shall first and next happen after my decease And I Will and direct that if any default shall be made in payment of the said Annuity or Yearly sum of Thirty pounds in manner aforesaid that then it shall and may be lawful for my said loving Wife and her Assignee or Assigns into all and singular my said Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and premises or any part thereof to Enter, and to distrain for the same and the distress and Distresses then and there found to take carry away sell and dispose of to pay, satisfy, and discharge as well the said Annuity or Yearly Rent Charge of Thirty pounds and all Arrears then due for the same, As also all such Costs, Charges and expences as she they or any of them shall be put to or sustain by reason of Recovering the same To the intent that true payment may be made according to the purport and meaning of this my Will

And from and after the Decease of my Brother Richard Guy then I give and devise All my said Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements and Hereditaments Whatsoever With their and every of their Appurtenances (Subject Nevertheless with the payment of the said Annuity or Rent Charge of Thirty Pounds given and made payable as aforesaid to my said Wife Mary Guy for the Term of her Natural Life, at such Days and times, and in such manner and with such power of recovering the same as is hereinbefore mentioned) Unto Robert Garton of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the said County of Leicester Gentleman and John Garton of Dalby on the Woulds in the said County of Leicester Gentleman upon Special Trust and Confidence That they the said Robert Garton and John Garton and the Survivour of them and the Heirs of such Survivour shall stand and be seized of the same for the Use of my Nephew Richard Guy untill such time as he shall attain the Age of One and Twenty Years and when and as soon as he shall have attained his said Age of One and Twenty Years Then I give and devise the said Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with their Appurtenances to my said Nephew Richard Guy his Heirs and Assigns for ever

And I do hereby order and direct that the said Robert Garton and John Garton and the Survivour of them and the Heirs of such Survivour (upon my said Nephew Richard Guy’s attaining his said Age of One and Twenty Years) Do render up the Trust in them reposed and do Account with my said Nephew for all the Monies arising by the said Yearly Rents of the said premises and which they from time to time shall have received during my said Nephew’s Minority

And my Will and Mind further is that in case my said Nephew Richard Guy shall die before he attains the Age of One and Twenty Years without having any Issue of his Body lawfully begotten, Then I give and devise the said Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with their Appurtenances (Subject Nevertheless with the payment of the said Annuity or Yearly Rent Charge of Thirty pounds given and made payable as aforesaid to my loving Wife Mary Guy for the Term of her Natural Life at such Days and times and in such manner and with such power of recovering the same as is hereinbefore mentioned) Unto the said Robert Garton and John Garton Upon Special Trust and Confidence That they the said Robert Garton and John Garton and the Survivour of them and the Heirs of such Survivour shall stand and be Seized of the same for the use of my Niece Ann Guy Untill such time as She shall Attain the Age of One and Twenty Years When and as soon as She shall have attained her said Age of One and Twenty Years Then I give and devise the said Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with their Appurtenances unto my said Niece Ann Guy her Heirs and Assigns for ever And I do hereby order and direct that the said Robert Garton and John Garton and the Survivour of them and the Heirs or such Survivour (Upon my said Niece Ann Guy’s attaining to her said Age of One and Twenty Years) Do render up the said Trust in them reposed and do Account with my said Niece for all the Monies Arising by the said Yearly Rents of the said premises and which they from time to time shall have received during my said Niece Ann Guy’s Minority

Provided always Nevertheless and my Mind and Will further is, That in case my said Niece Ann Guy shall die before she attains he said Age of One and Twenty Years without leaving any Issue of her Body lawfully begotten Then I give and devise the said Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and premises with the Appurtenances Unto my own Right Heirs for ever

And I do hereby order and direct that it shall and may be lawful to and for the said Robert Garton and John Garton and the Survivour of them and the Heirs of such Survivour to deduct to him and themselves out of the Rents and profits of my said Estate that shall come to their Hands All such Costs Charges and expences as they either or any of them shall be put to in the Execution of the Trust I hereby Repose in them

Also I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Mary Guy the sum of Thirty pounds to be paid her within One Month after my Decease

Also I Will and direct that all my Household Goods Furniture and Linen shall immediately after my Decease be divided into two equal parts And that my said loving Wife shall have the use of one of the two said equal parts of all my Household Goods Furniture and Linen for and during the Term of her Natural Life; And from and after her Decease I give and bequeath such part of my said Household Goods Furniture and Linen (as she had for her use for and during the Term of her Natural Life) unto my Brother Richard Guy his Executors Administrators or Assigns

Also I give and bequeath to my Nephew Henry Hebb the Sum of Twenty Pounds and unto his Brother John Hebb the Sum of Seventy pounds and unto his two Sisters Ann Barnett and Sarah Eggleston the Sum of fifty pounds apiece

Also I give and bequeath unto my Two Nephews John Clark and William Clark the Sum of Fifty pounds apiece

Also I give and bequeath unto my Two Nieces Sarah Wilford and Ann Wilford the Sum of fifty pounds apiece

Also I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Everard Little the Sum of Ten pounds, and unto my Nephew Richard Little the sum of Twenty pounds, and unto my Nephew George Little the Sum of fifteen pounds, and unto my Niece Ann Austin the Sum of Twenty pounds, and unto my Niece Mary Brunt the Sum of Fifteen pounds

Also All the Rest and Residue of my Goods Chattels Cattle and personal Estate of what nature and kind soever and wheresoever (my Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences being first thereout paid and discharged) I give and bequeath unto my said Brother Richard Guy Whom I do hereby make constitute and appoint full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made declaring this and none other to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Andrew Guy the Testator have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Sixth Day of November in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Seventy nine
