This is the last Will and Testament of me John Granger of Scalford in the County of Leicester Shepherd
First I Desire to be Buried in a Private and Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executor hereinafter named
And as for my Worldly Estate which hath Pleased God to bless me with I give and Dispose thereof as follows
In the first place I Give and Bequeath unto my only Son John Granger (after Payment of my Debts and Funeral Charges) all my Household Goods other Goods Stock Cattle Chattels Rights Credits ready Money and Securities of Money Personal Estate of what sort or kind soever But my Mind and Will is and I Do hereby Charge my said Household Goods and Personal Estate with providing of Sufficient Meat Drink Washing Firing Lodging unto and for my Dear and Loving Wife Elizabeth Granger for and During the Term of her natural Life Suitable to her Condition and Fortune
And my farther Will is And I do hereby Direct that if any Dispute Difference or Controversy shall at any time after my Decease happen to arise between my said Wife and Son touching her Provision and Maintenance in Manner as aforesaid That then such Dispute Difference or Controversy (if not adjusted and Settled within three Days after the same so happening) shall be finally Ended and Determined by two Indifferent Persons Chosen by my said Wife and Son without any Suit at Law or in Equity or any farther Trouble on account thereof or relateing thereto
And Lastly I do hereby Nominate and appoint my said Son John Granger full and Sole- Executor of this my Last Will and Testament Revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made
In Witness Whereof I the said John Granger the Father and Testator have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the Sixth Day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Three

Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said John Granger the Father and Testator as and for his Last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who at his Request in his Presence and in the Presence of each other have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses thereto
