Thomas Fowler of Stathern 1854 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Fowler of the Parish of Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer

First I direct that all my just Debts Funeral and Testamentary expenses be paid

I Give and bequeath all and singular my Household Goods and Furniture, Plate, Linen and China Stock upon my Farm, Live and Dead Stock, Hay Corn, Grain and Implements of Husbandry personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what kind or nature soever the same may [“be” missing] subject to the payment of my just Debts, Funeral and Testamentary expenses unto my affectionate Wife Elizabeth Fowler for and during the term of her natural life and I direct that an Inventory and valuation of my personal Estate and Effects shall be taken at my decease and signed by said Wife and handed over to my Two Sons namely John Fowler and William Snodin Fowler but that my said Wife shall not be accountable for any depreciation or loss which may occur from the change of Stock or Wear of Goods

And from and after her decease I then Give and bequeath such of my personal Estate and Effects as my Wife may then be possessed of, or belonging to me unto my said two Sons John Fowler and William Snodin Fowler share and share alike to each and I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Elizabeth Fowler sole Executrix In carrying this my last Will and Testament into effect and revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made

I publish and declare this Sheet of Paper signed by me to be and contain my last Will and Testament Witness my hand and seal this twenty fourth Day of April In the year of Our Lord One Thousand and Eight Hundred and fifty four

This Sheet of Paper was signed and sealed by the said Thomas Fowler the Testator and by him published and declared as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at this request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses thereto

Twenty fourth day of October One thousand eight hundred and fifty four

Elizabeth Fowler of Stathern in the County of Leicester the Sole Executrix in this Will named was duly sworn to the truth and faithful performance thereof as usual, and to the truth of the usual Stamp Office Affidavit and that the goods chattels and credits of the deceased without deducting any thing on account of debts owing therefrom do not amount in value to the Sum of Two hundred Pounds and that the deceased died on the 29th day of April last
