Richard Dixon of Long Clawson 1768 Will

The Last Will and Testament of Richard Dixon of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Butcher is as follows

The said Richard Dixon do Order that all my Just Debts and Funeral Expences and all Expences attending the proving of this my Will be in the first place paid off and discharged And I do hereby Give and Devise All that my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances Situated and being in Harvey [sic] in the said County of Leicester and all my Lands at Long Claxton in the said County of Leicester and all other my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with their Appurtenances unto be my beloved Wife Elizabeth Dixon for and during the Term of her Nature life if she so long continue my Widow and upon her decease or Marrying again I Give and Devise all and Singular the aforesaid Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with their Appurtenances unto my Son Richard Dixon if he be then arrived at the Age of Twenty One Years To hold to him his Heirs and Assigns for ever but if at the time of my Wifes decease or her Marrying again my said Son Richard should be living but not of the Age of Twenty One Years Then I Give him all and Singular my said above mentioned Freehold Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with the Appurtenances from the decease of my said Wife or her Marrying again which shall first happen untill he shall Attain his Age of Twenty One Years and then I Devise the same to him his Heirs and Assigns for Ever as above mentioned Provided always and in Case it shall so happen that my said Son Richard shall Dye before he attain his Age of Twenty One Years Then and not otherwise I will that upon the Decease of the Survivor of them my said Wife and son Richard All and Singular my above mentioned Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with their respective Appurtenances shall go and I do in such Case happening Give and Devise the same and every part thereof unto Anne Worthington the Wife of Thomas Worthington of the Town of Nottingham Mercer her Heirs and Assigns for ever

And out of my personal Estate I give unto my son Richard One Hundred pounds to be paid him at his Age of Twenty one years

And all and singular other the Rest residue and Remainder of my personal estate of what nature or kind soever not hereinbefore disposed of I give and Devise unto my said Wife Elizabeth Dixon to have and enjoy the Interest income and profit thereof during her life if she so long Continue my Widow and I make Constitute and Appoint her Sole Executrix of this my Will so long as she Continues my Widow And in Case she marry again Then I Constitute and Appoint my said son Richard Dixon the Sole Executor of this my Will and I give him all and Singular such Residue and Remainder of my said personall Estate he paying thereout unto my said Wife Two Hundred pounds only

In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this day of Aprill in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Sixty Eight
