William Daft of Walton on the Wolds 1901 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Daft retired Saddler of Walton-on-the-Wolds in the Parish of Walton-on-the-Wolds in the County of Leicester

I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences be paid by my Executors herein after named as soon as convenient after my decease and Subject to the payment thereof I give devise and bequeath all and every part of my real and personal estate consisting of household furniture linen wearing apparel books china pictures all and every sum of money which may be found in my house or about my person at the time of my decease Securities for money on Bonds Bills Notes or other securities also that field or plot of land called the Bork Meadow Situated in the Parish of Seagrave Containing One acre two roods more or less Unto and among the legatees hereinafter named

I direct that the field, before mentioned and described shall first be offered to my Son William Daft junior for the Sum of One Hundred Pounds Sterling and in the Event of his refusing to purchase the said field at the Sum Stated it shall be Sold by public Auction

I direct that my executors shall give out of my estate the Sum of Five Pounds to my Grandson Henry Daft Son of Frances Spray

I direct that the residue of my Estate shall be Equally divided between and among my surviving sons and daughters Thomas Daft Mary Ann Phipps William Daft junior Frances Spray Martha Hayes Samuel Daft and the Surviving issue of my youngest daughter Susannah Pearson deceased such issue to take in Equal Shares the Share their mother would have taken had she been living

I hereby appoint Thomas Daft Cossington Road Sileby and William Daft junior Saddler Walton on the Wolds my Sole executors of this my Will and hereby revoke all former Wills and testaments by me at any time made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said William Daft have hereunto set my hand this the thirtieth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and ninety four
