Hannah Chester of Nether Broughton 1805 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Hannah Chester of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Widow being weak and sick in Body but of a sound and well disposing Mind Memory and Understanding praised by Almighty God for the same Do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)

First I Give and bequeath to my Son William Chester and my Daughter Elizabeth Slawson the now Wife of John Slawson the sum of one Guinea each of good and lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid unto them by Executor hereinafter named at the end of twelve months next after my Decease

Also I Give and bequeath to my said Daughter Elizabeth Slawson all my wearing Apparell of any kind whatsoever belonging to me and to be delivered to her by my Executor at the end of one Month next after my Decease

Also I Give and bequeath to my four Sons as follows namely to my Sons Brett Chester Benjamin Chester John Chester and Michael Chester the sum of five pounds each of good and lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid unto them by my Executor herein after named at the end of twelve Months next after my Decease

And Lastly all the rest residue and remainder of all my goods chattles and effects quick and Dead Stock Household Furniture and Implements of Household personal Estate of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever the same is or are in Nether Broughton aforesaid or elsewhere I Give and bequeath to my Son Joseph Chester whom I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made He my said Son Joseph Chester paying all my just Debts the aforesaid Legacies and Funeral expences

In Witness whereof I the said Testatrix Hannah Chester have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal this twenty second Day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five

Signed Sealed published and Declared by the said Testatrix Hannah Chester as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto at the request of the said Testatrix in her presence and in the presence of each other

Let probat be granted to Joseph Chester Sole Executor of the within written Will: he being sworn to the due execution of it & also made oath that the whole personal estate of the testator at the time of the Testators decease did not amount in value to Two hundred pounds
