Thomas Campion of Hose 1711 Will and Inventory

In the name of God Amen I Thomas Campion of Hose Grange in the County of Leicester yeoman being of sound and perfect disposing mind & memory praised be Almighty God doe this thirtieth day of November Anno Dni 1711 make & ordaine this my last Will & Testament in manner following

First I comend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God hopeing assuredly for eternall salvacon through the grace & merritts of my Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ And as for that worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as followeth

Imprimis I give unto my eldest son Thomas Campion the Bedd & Bedding thereunto belonging standing & being in the Brown wainscoted Chamber in the house wherein I dwell

Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing wife Elizabeth Campion All my goods chattels cattle stock and all my personal Estate whatsoever Upon Condicon That she shall with as much convenient speed as may be after my decease pay & satisfye all my just debts which I shall owe at the time of my decease upon Mortgages Bonds Bills or other Specialtyes Contracts or otherwise howsoever

And further my will & Mind is and I doe hereby give & devise unto George Hoerobin of Derby Bricklayer and his heires All my lands tenements & hereditaments scituate & being in Hose in the said County of Leicester In trust nevertheless for the uses & purposes herein after mentioned That is to say

That in case my said personal Estate shall not be sufficient to pay all my said just debts That then the said George Hoerobin shall make sale of my said lands in Hose or so much or such part thereof as to pay so much of my said debts as the value of my personall Estate will not amount unto if there shall appear to be any such overplus debts more than my personal Estate will pay & discharge

But if there be no such overplus debts, or after satisfaction of the same (if any such there be) Then the said George Hoerobin & his heires shall stand & be seized of the said lands or such remaining part of the same after satisfaction of such overplus debts In trust to & for the use of my son Thomas Campion & his heires for ever

Item I will and desire and it is my mind That my said wife shall have and receive the rents issues & profits of my lands & tenements which shall come & belong unto my said son Thomas Campion untill he shall attaine his age of fourteen years for & towards his maintenance & Educacon

Item I give unto my Neice Elizabeth Campion forty shillings to be paid her att her age of one & twenty years

Item I give unto Mr Edward Feiker [?] of Grantham one guinea to buy him a mourning ring

And lastly I hereby make my said wife Elizabeth sole Executrix of this my last will & Testament hereby revokeing all former & other wills by me made

In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale the day & yeare above said
