This is the last Will and Testament of me Ann Brown of Holwell in the County of Leicester Spinster

I bequeath all sums of money which shall at my decease be owing to me upon Mortgage or other securities to my Mother Dinah Brown of Holwell aforesaid Widow and Thomas Brown my brother of the same place Ironmonger’s assistant their executors and administrators (hereinafter called my Trustees) Upon trust at their discretion either to permit the same to remain in the same state of investment for so long as they shall think fit or to call in and reinvest the same and to pay the annual income arising therefrom to my Mother Dinah Brown for her life and after her death Upon trust as to as well the capital as the income thereof for such of the following persons as shall be living at the decease of the survivor of me and the said Dinah Brown (namely) my sister Elizabeth Frearson my brothers George William Brown John Wright Brown and Thomas Brown and my friend William Musson the Son of Arthur Musson of Abb Kettleby to be equally divided between them share and share alike Provided always that if any of them the said Elizabeth Frearson George William Brown John Wright Brown Thomas Brown and William Musson shall die in my lifetime or in the lifetime of the said Dinah Brown leaving a child or children living at the death of the survivor of me and the said Dinah Brown then and in every such case such child or children shall take (and if more than one equally between them) the share which his her or their parent would have taken if such parent had been living at the decease of the survivor of me and the said Dinah Brown

I give and bequeath all my personal estate not hereby otherwise disposed of Unto the said Dinah Brown absolutely subject to the payment thereout of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses

I devise all estates vest in my as a Trustee or Mortgagee unto my Trustees their heirs and assigns subject to the trusts and equities affecting the same respectively and I appoint the said Dinah Brown and Thomas Brown Executors of this my Will

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this Thirteenth day of April One thousand eight hundred and eighty one

Signed and declared by the above named Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses the words “my Mother Dinah Brown” in the fifth line the words “of Holwell aforesaid Widow” in the sixth line and the words “Thomas Brown my brother the same place Ironmonger’s assistant” in the seventh and eighth lines of the first page and the words “Dinah Brown and Thomas Brown” in the ninth and tenth lines of the second page having been inserted previously to the execution of the said Will by the said Testatrix

Proved at Leicester on the Twenty first day of January 1882 by the Oaths of Dinah Brown Widow the Mother and Thomas Brown the Brother, the Executors to whom administration was granted

The Testatrix Ann Brown was late of Holwell in the County of Leicester Spinster and died on the Twenty fourth day of November 1881 at Holwell aforesaid
