This is the last Will and Testament of me William Bowley of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Miller

I give and devise all my Messuage or Tenement Mill and Land adjoining containing about three acres and a half and all other the Real Estate of which I shall die possessed with their appurtenances to Robert Shelton of Broughton Lodge my Nephew and Reuben Walker of Wysall in Nottinghem Farmer hereinafter called my Trustees and to their heirs and assigns Upon Trust to sell the same at any time or times that they or the survivor of them shall deem prudent and in such manner and subject to such Conditions as shall be thought proper and upon Trust to dispose of the purchase Money thereof in the same manner as I shall hereinafter direct

As to the residue of my personal Estate I bequeath all my household Furniture plate Linen and other household effects in and about my house to my Wife Frances Bowley absolutely

And I give & bequeath all my Money Stock in trade, Horses Implements and all other my personal Estate not hereinbefore given to my Wife unto my said Trustees Upon Trust to convert the same into Money and I direct that my said Trustees or the survivor of them shall dispose of the Money arising from the Sale of my said real and personal Estates in payment of my Debts Funeral and Testamentary expences and upon further Trust to place the residue same out at Interest on good real or Government Securities or on Guaranteed or Preference Railway Stock on Lines paying a Divided with power to change or alter such Investments And upon Trust to pay the Interest or Dividends thereof to my said Wife during her life, and after her death to pay her funeral Expences and then divide the remainder of the said Trust Money into three equal parts and pay or transfer one of such parts to my Son Joseph Bowley if living at my Wife’s death, and if he shall die before my Wife to pay and divide the said Share equally amongst his children now or hereafter to be born

And as to remaining two thirds of the said residue to pay the same to my Daughter Frances Bowley if she shall be living at my Wife’s death for her sole and separate use and independent of any husband of hers, and if she shall die before my said Wife to such person or persons as she shall by her Will direct and in default of her making such Will to her personal representative or representatives

I devise All Estates vested in me as Trustee or Mortgagee at the time of my death unto my said Trustees and their heirs & assigns upon the same Trusts and subject to the same Equities as shall be subsisting at the time of my death

If one of my said Trustees should die or become unwilling or unable to act in executing the above Trusts or go to reside abroad it shall be lawful for the surviving or continuing trustee to nominate and appoint some person to supply his place and the said Trust Estate shall be conveyed and assigned so that it may vest jointly in the new Trustee and original continuing Trustee

And I appoint the said Robert Shelton and Reuben Walker joint Executors of this my Will

At Leicester on the Nineteenth day of September 1879 administration (with the Will annexed) of the Personal Estate of William Bowley late of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Miller deceased who died on the Twenty third day of January 1879 at Nether Broughton aforesaid was granted to Frances Bowley Widow the Relict the Residuary Legatee for the Life named in the said Will she having been first sworn Robert Shelton, the Nephew, and Reuben Walker the Executors and Residuary Legatees in Trust named in the said Will having renounced the Probate and Execution thereof
