William Blankley of Eastwell 1714 Will

In the name of God Amen I William Blankley of Eastwell in the County of Leicester Yeoman calling to mind the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death Do make and Ordaine this to be my last will and testament in manner following

First and principally I recommend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God which gave it and my Body to the Earth from whence it was taken hoping for a Joyfull resurrection through the Alone Merritts of Jesus Christ the righteous and to be decently interred at the discretion of my Extors hereafter named

And as for my worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose thereof as followeth

Impris I give unto my wife Sarah Blankley only five Shillings to be paid her in three months after my decease by my executors having already made provision for her by and with her Consent and Satisfaction and also of all her friends

Item I give to my Cozen Mary the wife of William Dyer of Melton Mowbray in the sd County of Leister Sadler the Sume of Ten pounds

To my Cozen [no name given] the wife of Thomas Belton of Neather Broughton in the sd County of Leic the like Sume of Ten pounds

To my Cozen Elizabeth the wife of John Sumner of Branston in the County of Leicester the like Sume of Ten pounds

To my Cozen William James of Hoby the Sume of Ten pounds

And to my sister Anne James the Sume of Fifteene pounds

All which Legacys I will shall be paid by my Executors hereinafter named to the respective persons above named within twelve months next after my decease

Item I give to Anne James daughter of Thomas James of Hoby aforesaid the Sume of twenty pounds

To James Dyer eldest son of the said William Dyer the Sume of Ten pounds

To James Sumner eldest son of the said John Sumner the Sume of fifteene pounds

And to Ann & William Sumner his youngest son & daughter the sum of five pounds a piece

And to George Dyer another of the sons of the said William Dyer five pounds which said last six Legacies I will shall be paid and given respectively by my extors hereafter named within one year next after my decease And their respective receipts for the Same shall be an Effectual discharge to my executors notwithstanding their minority

Item I give to the five children of John Hawley of Saltby in the County of Leicester the Sume of five Shillings a piece and to the two children of John Carrington of Melton Mowbray aforesaid the Sume of ten Shillings a piece

Item I give to the poor of Eaton and Eastwell ten Shillings a piece to be paid by my Extors within one month after my decease to their respective overseers of the poor to be by them distributed at their discretion amongst their said poor

Item I give to the wife of William Wiseman of Statherne the Sume of ten Shillings to be paid her within one year next after my decease

And I do hereby make and constitute the said William Dyer and the said William James executors of this my will and I do hereby give and bequeath all the rest of my goods Cattle Chattells and personall estate not hereinbefore disposed of unto my said extors to be divided between them and I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made
