In the name of God Amen &c I William Beaver of Caudwell in the Countie of Leic yeoman sicke in bodie but of perfect memorie prased be God I doe make & ordaine this my last will & Teastament in maner and forme followinge

First I bequeath my soule unto allmightie God hopinge by the merritts of Jesus Christ to obtaine Everlastine life, also I geve my bodie to the earth out of which it was taken desiringe it may be buried in the Church yarde at Caudwell aforesd and as touching my wordly goods I thuse dispose vide

Imprimis I give & bequeath unto Richard Beaver sonne & heire apparent unto me the sd William Beaver all that thre yard Land with all thappurtenances in Caudwell & Wickham theire belonginge or in any wise appertaininge for & in consideracon to paie unto the Child which my wife is with all if in Case it shall live until the sd Richard shall accomplishe the age of one & Twentie yeares the wholle & just some of Fortie Pounds of Currant Englishe money

Item I give & bequeath unto Rachiell Beaver my Daughter the some of Twentie Pounds to be paied by my sonne & heire aforesd out of my Lands aforesd when shee shall accomplishe the age of Foure & twentie yeares

Itm I bequeath & give unto John Beaver my Brother the some of Fiftie Poundes to be paied at or uppon the day of his marrage

Itm I bequeath & geve unto Richard Beaver my yongest Brother the some of Fiftie Poundes at or uppon the feast of Phillip & Jacob comonley called May day which shalbe in the yeare of our Lord God one Thousand Six hundred Fortie & Foure, But if it happen that Ann Beaver wife of the aforenamed William shall after decease marry that the Fiftie Pounds soe given by me[MJ1]  shalbe payable unto my Brother Richard with in sixe months next after her marrage

It I bequeath unto my daughter Rachiell Beaver Thirtie Pounds to be paied by my executor forth of my goods at her age of Foure & Twentie & my Daughter Rachiell and the Cheld which as yet is not borne to be heires one to the other if any of them shall departe this present life before theire portions be payable

Itm I will that Jane Beaver my sister shalbe suffeciently maintayned with meate drinke linninge wollen hooses & shoues & all other thinges necessarie & fittinge for her during her naturall life to be performed by my executor

Itm I give unto the Church the some of three shillings foure pence

Itm I give unto the poore of Caudwell & Wickham Six shillinges eyght pence

Itm I give unto John Smith Tow shellings six pence

It I desier that Richard Beaver my father and Henry Briges [indexed as both Briggs and Bridges] of Melton Mouberie my Brother in Law to be Supravisors of this my last will & Teastament

And I doe likewise make & ordayne Ann Beaver my wife to be my executor the legases before mentioned and my funeral expenses beinge discharged the remainder of my estate to be my executor

In witnesse whereof I have Caused this my last will & Testament to be mayde & doe hereunto set my hand & seale May 22th Annoq dni 1640
