John Barnes of Stathern 1821 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Barnes the Elder of Stathern in the County of Leicester formerly Schoolmaster

I give all my Household Furniture & Linen to Ann Wing Wife of Joseph Wing also two milch Cows two rearing Calves and thirteen sheep to the above written Ann Wing whom I nominate and appoint executrix to his my last will & Testament

In witness whereof I set my hand and seal this fifth day of February 1821

[John Barnes died the same day so probably the reason why a Schoolmaster could not sign his name]

Let a probat be granted to Ann the wife of Joseph Wing of Stathern in the County of Leicester Labourer Executrix named in the will of John Barnes who died at Stathern the 5th of Feby 1821 She the said Ann Wing being sworn as well to the faithful execution of the will as that the Testators Goods Chattles & Credits as they were at his death without deducting any debts owing by him therefrom did not amount in value to the sum of one hundred pounds
