William Coleman of Long Clawson and Hose 1877 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Coleman the Elder late of Long Clawson and now of Hose both in the County of Leicester Farmer

Whereas I have by a Deed of Gift or Settlement bearing date this day given and granted all my Messuage or Tenement Farm Lands Hereditaments and premises situate in the Parish of Long Clawson aforesaid therein particularly described with the appurtenances thereto unto and to the use of my Son William Coleman his heirs and assigns for ever subject to the several Indentures of Mortgage and further charge affecting the same and to the payment of the principal moneys and interest thereby secured Now I do hereby confirm the said deed of Gift or Settlement

I bequeath to my daughter Ann Stokes a Legacy of Five hundred pounds to my daughter Mary March a Legacy of Five hundred pounds and to my daughter Catherine Sarah Coleman a Legacy of Five hundred pounds and I direct that the legacies of such of my said three daughters as at the time of the actual payment thereof respectively shall be married women shall be paid into their respective proper hands in order that the same may be enjoyed and disposed of as their sole and separate property and for which legacies their respective receipts shall be sufficient discharges And I declare that if any of my said three daughters shall die in my lifetime leaving and child or children who shall be living at my death then and in every such case such child or children shall take (and if more than one equally between them) the Legacy which his her or their Mother would have taken under this my Will if she had survived me

I devise and bequeath all my real estate not herein before disposed of and all my personal Estate to my Son William Coleman and to Joseph Paddison of Melton Mowbray Solicitor Upon Trust to sell and convert the same into money and thereout to pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts (except mortgage debts) and the above mentioned legacies and to divide the net residue thereof between such of my Six children William Coleman Edward Coleman Thomas Beaumont Coleman Mary March Ann Stokes and Catherine Sarah Coleman as shall be living at the time of my death in equal shares and I appoint the said William Coleman and Joseph Paddison Executors of this my Will and I devise to them all Estates vested in me upon any trust or by way of Mortgage subject to the trusts and equities affecting the same respectively

Proved at Leicester on the Thirteenth day of November 1877 by the Oaths of William Coleman the Son and Joseph Paddison the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator William Coleman the Elder was late of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the Sixteenth day of November 1876 at Upper Broughton in the County of Nottingham
