This is the last Will and Testament of me William Wright of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Yeoman as follows

First I direct all my just debts funeral and Testamentary expences be fully paid and I subject and charge all my real and personal Estate with the true payment thereof

I Give unto my Grandson John Edward Wright the Son of my late Son John Wright the Sum of One hundred and forty pounds which I will shall be paid to him when he attains his full age of Twenty one years but in case he should happen to die under the Age of Twenty one years Then I direct the said Sum of One hundred and forty pounds to be equally divided between and amongst my Two Sons William Wright and Thomas Wright, my Daughter Sarah Brown, and the Two Daughters of my late Son Joseph Wright viz Mary Ann and Esther Wright share and share alike

I Give to my Grandson Joseph the Son of my late Son Joseph Wright the Sum of one shilling

I Give to my said two Grand daughters Mary Ann and Esther Wright (the daughters of my said late Son Joseph Wright) the Sum of Twenty pounds apiece which I will shall be paid to each of them when they attain their respective Ages of Twenty one years but in case either of them shall die before she shall have attained to such Age Then the share of her so dying under Age as aforesaid shall go to the Survivor of them her Executors and Administrators and to my said Grandon Joseph Wright share and share alike

I Give to my Son Thomas Wright the Sum of Forty pounds to be paid him within twelve months after my decease

I Give to my daughter Sarah Brown the sum of One hundred and forty pounds to be paid her within twelve months after my decease

And I do hereby confirm the Gift and Sale of my Household Goods Cattle Chattels and Personal Estate which I sometime since sold and delivered to my Son in law Michael Brown and my daughter Sarah Brown his Wife

Whereas my Son in law the said Michael Brown hath expended in and about my Messuage or Tenement Orchard Garden and Homestead containing one Acres or thereabouts the Sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds and my Will is that so long as he continues in possession of the said Messuage or Tenement orchard Garden and Homestead he shall not pay any rent for the Same but in case he shall happen to quit the same either voluntarily or by notice from my Executor hereinafter named Then I direct that the said Sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds shall be paid to him the said Michael Brown his Executors or administrators within six Months after he shall have quitted the same and I do hereby Subject and charge my said Messuage or Tenement orchard Garden and homestead with the just and true payment thereof

I Give Devise and bequeath All my Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements hereditaments and Real Estate Situate and being in Nether Broughton aforesaid or elsewhere with the Kingdom of England with their appurtenances and also the Residue of my Personal Estate wearing apparel and other Effects of what nature or kind soever the same may be (subject to the payment of my just debts legacies funeral and testamentary expences) unto my Son William Wright his heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever

And I do hereby appoint my Son the said William Wright Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I the said William Wright the Elder and Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twenty Sixth day of August one thousand eight hundred and Twenty Two

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator William Wright as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have at his Request in his presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as Witnesses to the due Execution thereof the several Erazures being first made

Let a Probate be made to William Wright of Hickling in the County of Nottingham Farmer and Grazier the sole Executor named in the will of the deceased who died in January last

He having been duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the Will as that the testator’s Goods Chattels and Credits without deducting any debts owing by him therefrom did not amount in value to the Sum of Twenty Pounds
