William Wright of Nether Broughton 1647 Will and Inventory

In the name of god amen: I William Wright of Broughton als Neather Broughton in the Countie of Leicester yeomen beinge aged and weake in bodie (but thanks be to God) of perfect and sound memorie and in health of bodie and minde doe make & ordeyne my last will & Testament the Twentieth day of October in the year of our Lord god 1641 in Manner and forme followinge

First I bequeath my soule to Almightie god who gave it And to my saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ by whose passion and bloodshed I trust to have Remission of all my sins and Eternal life: And my bodie to the earth from when it Came And to be buried in Christian Buriall: and as for my temporall goods & possessions I give & dispose of them as hereafter followeth

And first I do hereby annihilate and make voide all former wills which I have formerly made heretofore whatsoever

Item I give and bequeath To My doughter Agnes Browne in mony twentie pounds which said some of twentie pounds I did heretofore at her mariage promise hir to be payd after my decease now therefore my will is that my Executor shall pay it within the space of one whole yeare next after my decease for in Lew and full satisfaccon of her porcon or Childs parte of my goods

Item I give & bequeath to my doughter Jane Orson in full satisfaccon of her Children parte or porcon in mony Twentie shillings to be payd within one yeare next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath to my sone in law William Orsons six children in mony twentie shillings that is to say to every one of them three shillings foure pence to be paid to the aforesaid Children alsoe within whole yeare next after my decease

Item I do give to my doughter Elizabeth Kemp in mony five shillings if she shall happen to come againe to Neather Broughton

Item I doe give to the poore inhabitants of Neather Broughton aforesaid in Money ten shillings to be distributed to them by the discretion of My Executor and the Overseers of the poore, there for the time beinge, within a yeare next after my decease

Item all my goods Cattell and Chattels in Neather Broughton or else where which are unbequeathed my debts & legaces paid and funerall Chardges dischardged I give & bequeath to Richard Browne my sone in Law whome alsoe I make & ordeyne my sole & Whole Executor to this my last will performed
