William Wright 1847 Will

Wright William heretofore of Hickling in the County of Nottingham but late of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Wright of Hickling in the County of Nottingham Grazier as follows

First I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences to be fully paid

I give Devise and bequeath All my Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever with their appurtenances situate and being in Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester and Hickling aforesaid or elsewhere within the Kingdom of England And also all my household Goods Stock Cattle Chattels rights credits ready money securities for money and all other my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever of which I shall die possessed unto my affectionate Wife Ann Wright my friend William Collishaw and my Son in Law John Bell both of Hickling aforesaid Graziers their Heirs Executors and Administrators Upon trust to take upon themselves the sole Management thereof and from time to time to pay apply and dispose of the rents and profits yearly and every year arising from my said Real Estate and also the Interest Dividends and proceeds arising out of my said Personal Estate and Effects unto my affectionate wife Ann Wright for the benefit and support of herself and for the maintenance education and brining up of my Two Sons William Wright and Joseph Wright until my said Son Joseph Wright shall attain the age of Twenty one years And when and so soon as my said Son Joseph Wright shall attain to his full age of Twenty one years Then I Give and Devise and bequeath All my said Real Estate and premises with their appurtenances And also all my said Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever unto and between my said two Sons William Wright and Joseph Wright their heirs and assigns to take and enjoy the same as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants  Subject nevertheless to the payment of one full third part of the rents and profits arising out of my said Real and Personal Estate unto my said affectionate wife Ann Wright and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life by half yearly payments that is to say on the fifth day of April and the tenth day of October in every year the first payment thereof to be made on either the those days as shall next happen after my said Sons shall have become entitled to the possession of my said Real and Personal Estate And in case the said third part of the rents issues and profits of my said Real and Personal Estate or any part thereof shall be in arrear and unpaid for the space of ten days after the same ought to be paid as aforesaid Then I Give unto my said wife and her assigns the same power of enforcing the payment thereof as Landlords have for enforcing and obtaining payment of rent in arrear

And Lastly I do hereby appoint my said Wife Ann Wright and the said William Collishaw and John Bell Trustees and Guardians for my said Children during their minority and also Joint Executors In trust of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Thirty first day of March One thousand eight hundred and thirty five

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator William Wright as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us have at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as Witnesses to the due Execution thereof the several erasures being first made

William Collishaw and John Bell both of the Parish of Hickling in the County of Nottingham Graziers, two of the executors in this will named were duly sworn to the truth & faithful performance thereof as usual & to the truth of the usual Stamp office affidavit & that the goods chattels & credits of the deceased without deducting any thing on account of debts owing therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds (£200)  & that the deceased died on the twentieth day of December last past
