This is the Last Will and Testament of me William Wilford of Eaton in the County of Leicester Farmer

I Give and devise All that my Messuage or Dwellinghouse with the Outbuildings Land and Appurtenances thereto belonging situate and being at Stathern in the said County of Leicester and all other my Real estate at Stathern aforesaid unto my father William Wilford for and during the term of his natural life (Subject nevertheless to and charged and chargeable with the payment of the Interest of all Principal money now due or which shall be due at the time of my decease upon Mortgage of the said Premises)

And from and immediately after his decease I Give and devise the same unto my friends Gervas Howe of Langar in the County of Nottingham Farmer William Shipman the younger of Stathern aforesaid Farmer and Edward Bestall of Eaton aforesaid Farmer their Heirs and assigns To the Use of them and their Heirs and Assigns In trust that they the said Gervas Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall or the survivors or survivor of them or the Heirs or Assigns of such survivor shall and do so soon as he or they shall think convenient and proper after the decease of my said father sell and dispose of the same either entirely or in parcels by public Auction or private contract for the best price or prices that can or may be reasonably had or got for the same And shall and do upon the receipt of the purchase money for the same respectively convey the premises so to be sold as aforesaid to the purchaser or purchasers thereof in such manner as shall be reasonable or necessary in that behalf And I will that the receipt or receipts of the said Gervas Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall or the survivors or survivor of them or the Heirs or Assigns of such survivor for what shall be actually paid to him or them for or on account of the purchase money of the premises so to be sold as aforesaid shall be a good and sufficient discharge to the purchaser or purchasers thereof

And from and immediately after payment thereof and the giving of such receipt or receipts for the same as aforesaid the person or persons by whom or on whose behalf the monies shall be so paid as aforesaid shall not be obliged to see or attend to the application thereof or any parts thereof by them the said Gervase Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall or the survivors or survivor of them or the Heirs or Assigns of such survivor or any of them or be in anywise answerable or accountable for any waste misapplication or nonapplication thereof

And as to the monies to arise by such sale or sales as aforesaid (after deducting thereout the charges or expenses necessarily attending the same or incident thereto) I will that they the said Gervase Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall or the survivors or survivor of them or the Heirs Executors or Administrators of such survivor shall and do stand possessed of an interested in the same and every part thereof Upon trust that they the said Gervas Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall or the survivors or survivor of them or the Heirs Executors or Administrators of such survivor shall and do by with and out of such monies pay and satisfy all principal money secured on mortgage of the said Premises and the Interest then due and to grow due thereon and after payment thereof Upon further trust to pay and divide the residue of such monies unto and amongst my Brothers Edward Wilford John Wilford Francis Wilford Thomas Wilford Andrew Wilford and my sister Sarah Wilford equally share and share alike

I Give and bequeath to the said Gervase Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall their Executors Administrators and Assigns the Sum of Two hundred Pounds independent of the presents or any other Legacy duty thereon or any charge or expense respecting the same Upon trust that they the said Gervase Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall or the survivors or survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor shall and do immediately after my decease lay out and invest the said Sum of Two hundred pounds at Interest in the names or name of them my said Trustees or the survivors or survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor upon Government or Real Securities with power to alter and vary the Securities at pleasure until the Principal money shall become payable and I direct that the said Gervase Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall or the Survivors or survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor shall stand and be possessed of the money so to be placed out or the funds or securities wherein the same shall be invested and the Interest and dividends thereof Upon the trusts following (that is to say)

Upon trust to pay and apply the yearly Interest and dividends thereof or such portion of the same as the said Trustees or Trustee shall think proper from time to time towards the maintenance and education of Katherine Wright the natural daughter of Sarah Wright but now Sarah Wilford Wife of Francis Wilford of Melton Mowbray in the County of Leicester until she shall attain the age of Twenty four years And upon this further trust that the said Trustees or Trustee shall and do assign transfer and set over the said money so to be placed out on the funds or securities wherein the same shall be invested unto the said Katherine Wright when and so soon as she shall attain her said age of twenty four years with such part of the Interest and dividends thereof as shall not have been applied for her maintenance and education But if the said Katherine Wright shall die before she attains her said age of twenty four years then and in such case I direct that the said money or funds or securities shall form a part of the residue of my personal estate and be applied accordingly

I Give and bequeath to the said Gervas Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall their Executors Administrators and  Assigns the Sum of Seven hundred Pounds Upon trust that they the said Gervase Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall or the Survivors or survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor shall and do immediately after my decease lay out and invest the said Sum of Seven hundred pounds at Interest in the names or name of them my said Trustees or the survivors or survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor upon Government or Real securities with power to alter and vary the securities at pleasure until the principal money shall become payable and I direct that the said Gervas Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall or the survivors or survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor shall stand and be possessed of the money so to be placed out or the funds or securities wherein the same shall be invested and the Interest and dividends thereof Upon the trusts following (that is to say)

Upon trust to pay the Interest and dividends thereof as the same shall become due and payable unto my dear Wife Elizabeth Wilford and her Assigns for and during the term of her natural life And after her decease In trust to pay and transfer the whole of the said Principal money or the funds or securities wherein the same shall be invested and the future and accruing Interest and dividends thereof unto the several persons and in the proportions and manner hereinafter mentioned (that is to say)

As to one seventh part or share thereof unto my said brother Edward Wilford his Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever

As to one other seventh part or share thereof unto my said brother John Wilford his Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever

As to one other seventh part or share thereof unto my said brother Francis Wilford his Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever

As to one other seventh part or share thereof unto my said brother Thomas Wilford his Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever

As to one other seventh part or share thereof unto my said brother Andrew Wilford his Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever

As to one other seventh part or share thereof unto my said sister Sarah Wilford her Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever

And as to the other seventh part or share thereof unto Sarah John and Ann the three Children of my late Sister Dorothy Freck deceased equally share and share alike

And as to for and concerning all my Household goods and furniture Stock and Effects upon my farm and all the rest residue and remainder of my ready money securities for money and the monies thereby secured and all my Estate and Interest in the Lands Tenements and Hereditaments comprised in such Securities Goods Chattells Personal estate and Effects whatsoever not hereinbefore disposed of I Give and bequeath the same unto my said Wife absolutely for ever Subject nevertheless to and charged and chargeable with the payment of the aforesaid Legacies my funeral expenses and of all my just debts except the Principal and Interest owing by me on security of the Premises situate at Stathern aforesaid and charged upon and made payable thereout

And I nominate and appoint my said Wife to be sole Executrix of this my Will

And I declare and direct that if any of them the said Gervas Howe William Shipman and Edward Bestall shall die or refuse or decline to act in the trusts of this my Will then a new Trustee or Trustees may be appointed by the surviving Trustees or Trustee or by the Executors or Administrators of such surviving Trustee And that the said trust estates monies and premises shall in that case be conveyed and assigned so as to be vested in such new and such surviving or continuing trustees or trustee or in such new trustees or trustee wholly as the case may require upon the same trusts and with the same power as are hereinbefore mentioned and declared and so from time to time as often as that case shall happen

And I declare that my said Trustees and the Trustees or Trustee for the time being of this my will shall not be answerable one for another and by no means for involuntary losses And that they shall be allowed and may retain to and reimburse themselves all their costs charges and expenses to be occasioned by the due execution of the trusts hereby in them reposed

And I hereby revoke all former wills

In Witness whereof I the said William Wilford the Testator have to this my Last Will and Testament contained in three sheets of paper to the first two sheets thereof set my hand and to this third and last sheet my hand and seal this Twelfth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and nineteen
