William Wilford of Scalford 1768 Will

In the Name of God Amen I William Willford of Scalford in the County of Leicester Farmer being in perfect health And of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding But Considering the Uncertainty of this life Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)

First of all I give my soul to God who gave it me And my Body I Commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor herein after named

And as for my Worldly Estate which hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose thereof in manner following

In the first place I give and bequeath unto my Eldest Son William Willford the Younger the sum of one Shilling to be paid him within one Month next after my decease by my Executor herein after named

And Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Cramp the Wife of John Cramp of Houghton on the Hill in the Said County of Leicester Grazier the Sum of one Shilling to be paid her within one Month next after my decease by my said Executor

And Also I give and bequeath unto my youngest Daughter Elizabeth Willford the Sum of Twenty five pounds to be paid her within Twelve Months next after my decease by my Said Executor

And Also I Give and bequeath All and Singular my Household Goods plate and Linen whatsoever Scituate Standing and being in my now dwelling House in Scalford aforesaid unto my Said Daughter Elizabeth Willford and my youngest Son John Willford to be equally divided between them Share and Share alike and to be delivered to them and Each of them respectively imediately after my decease by my Said Executor

And Lastly All and Singular the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Stock Cattle Chattells Implements of Husbandry rights Credits and personal Estate of What kind or nature soever (my Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences being first paid and discharged) I give and bequeath unto my Said Son John Willford Whom I do hereby Appoint full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament Revoking all former Wills by me at any time hereto made

In Witness whereof I the said William Willford the father and Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twenty third day of December in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Six
