The last Will and Testament of me Matthew Widdowson Tailor of Harby in the County of Leicester

I hereby desire that after my decease my Brother Thomas Widdowson of Radcliffe on Trent in the County of Nottingham shall have one fifth less four pounds of my whole property and that my Brother in Law John Hewitt of Sale in the county of Chester shall have one fifth less four pounds of the same and that my Sister Sarah Welsh of Basford in the County of Nottingham shall have one fifth of the same with one third of the eight pounds mentioned above which Thomas Widdowson and John Hewitt will have less And that my Sister Ellen Wesson of Wyneberg Cape of Good Hope South Africa shall have one fifth of the same with one third of the eight pounds above mentioned And that my Nephew and Niece James and Julia Freck shall have one fifth of the same with one third of the eight pounds above mentioned equally divided between them

I also desire that my Niece Julia Freck shall after my decease take to my house and shop and have the stock which is in the shop at the time at one third less than prime cost but if she would not wish to do so then I wish for all the things to be sold and the proceeds after my just debts are settled to be divided as above stated

I also appoint Henry Lamin Baker of Harby in the County of Leicester as my Executor under this my last Will and Testament dated the sixth day of December one thousand eight hundred and sixty five

I Henry Finn of Basford in the County of Nottingham Chemical Works Manager make oath that I am one of the subscribing witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Matthew Widdowson late of Harby in the County of Leicester Tailor deceased the said Will being now hereunto annexed bearing date the sixth day of December One thousand eight hundred and sixty five and that the said Testator executed the said Will on the day of the date thereof by signing his name at the foot or end thereof as the same now appears thereon in the presence of my and of William Phillips the other subscribed witness thereto both of us being present at the same time and we thereupon attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the said Testator

At Leicester on the ninth day of November 1866 Administration (with the Will annexed) of the personal Estate and Effects of Matthew Widdowson late of Harby in the County of Leicester Tailor deceased who died on the twelfth day of December 1865 at Basford in the County of Nottingham was granted to Thomas Widdowson Brother of the deceased one of the Residuary Legatees named in the said Will he having been first sworn Henry Lamin the Sole Executor having renounced the probate and execution of the said Will
