James Whittle of Scalford 1843 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me James Whittle of Scalford in the County of Leicester Farmer

I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth One Hundred Pounds

To my Daughter Ann One hundred and fifty Pounds

To my Daughter Sarah One hundred and fifty Pounds

I direct the above Legacies to be paid to such of the above Legatees as shall be of age at the time of my death at the expiration of twelve months from my death without Interest in the mean time

I direct the above Legacies to be paid to such of the above Legatees as shall be under age at the time of my decease when they shall respectively come of age without Interest in the mean time

If any of the above Legatees shall die under age I direct his [sic, but there was no male legatee named above] or her Legacy to lapse

Subject to the payment of the above Legacies, my Debts funeral and Testamentary Expences I give and bequeath all my Money, Household Goods, Farming Stock And all other my personal Estate and Effects unto my Wife and Son Levy to be equally divided between them share and share alike

But I give after my Wife’s Death to my Daughter Ann the Bed Bedding and all the Furniture in the Blue Room And to my Daughter Sarah the Bed Bedding And all the furniture in the Best Room

And I appoint my said Wife Ann Sole Executrix of this my Will

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this thirteenth ay of July One thousand eight hundred and forty one

Ann Whittle of Scalford in the County of Leicester Widow the Sole Executrix in this Will named was duly sworn to the Truth and faithful performance thereof as usual, and that the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased do not amount in value to the Sum of four hundred & fifty pounds and that the deceased died on the first day of August last past
