August the third Daye 1657
(In the name of God Amen) I Ralph Whittaker of Eaton in the County of Leicester, beinge sicke in bodye but whole of minde & in good & perfect memory, praise & Thanks be given to god, doe make & ordaine this my last will & Testament in manner & forme followinge, That is to say
First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker, hopeing to be saved by the merits death & passion of Jesus Christ my redeemer, & by noe other meanes, & my bodye to the earth from whence it came & it to be buried in the Churchyard of Eaton aforesaid
Item I give unto Richard Whittaker my son for his portion Twelve pence
It I give unto Roberte Whittaker the son of the said Richard Two sheepe to be given to him if hee survive after the decease of Elizabeth my nowe wife
Item I doe give unto Thomas Whittaker my son the Cowe which I now have after my wifes decease and Two sheepe for the present I give unto him allsoe
& after my debts payde & my funeral Expences performed All the rest of my goods Cattles & Chattles moveable & unmovable With whatsoever of right or Conscience to mee doe belonge which is unbequeathed & not given, I doe give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my wife whom I make my whole Executrix of this my last will & Testament provided that att her decease shee shall Give unto Thomas my son If hee be Obedient & Dutifull unto her all that which shee shall leave of whatsoever I gave bequeathed her
Allso I Constitute & appoint William Tinsley & Anthony Good of the same Towne and County aforesd Supervisors of this my last will & Testament
In witnesse hereunto I have set my hand this present day & yeare first abovesaide in the presence of these wittnesses
