Joseph Westby of Stathern 1735 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Joseph Westby of Stathern in the County of Leicester Yeoman being mindfull of my Mortality Do make and Ordain my last Will and Testament in manner following (That is to say)

First I Give and Devise All that my Messuage or Tenement and one Close of pasture Ground and one Oxgange and an halfe of Land with their respective appurtenances scituate and being in Hickling in the County of Nottingham & the fields and liberties thereof which was formerly Devised to me by my Brother Thomas Westby and now in the Occupation of Robert Butler Unto my Neice Sarah Willford (the Grand Daughter of my late Brother John Westby deceased) and to her heirs and Assigns for ever

Allsoe I Give and Devise All that my one Oxgange of Land lying and being in the fields and Liberties of Hickling aforesd which I purchased amongst other Lands of Lawrence Godfrey unto my said Neece Sarah Willford her heirs and assigns for ever upon Condition that my sd neece Willford doe and shall well and truly pay off and Discharge all the principall and Interest money due upon a Mortgage made by me to Edward Parrs of Redmile of the sd last mentioned Oxgange of Land together with other Lands and hereditaments therein Mortgaged

Allso I Give and Devise All that my Close of pasture Ground I Hickling aforesd Called Cake Lane Close which I purchased of the sd Lawrence Godfrey unto my nephew John Daft his heirs and Assigns for ever Subject to the payment of the Sume of Tenn pounds of Good and Lawfull Money of Great Britain to the Minister and Church Wardens of Hickling aforesaid and the Interest thereof to be applyed towards the Maintenance of a School Master in Hickling aforesd at the Discretion of the Minister and Church Wardens there for the Time being And Allsoe Subject to the payment of the further Sume of Tenn pounds of like lawfull money of Great Britain to the Minister and Church Wardens of Statherne aforesd for the Time being within one year after my Decease the yearly produce and Interest of the said last mentioned Tenn pounds to be applyed towards the Maintenance of a School Master in Statherne aforesaid at the Discretion of the Minister and Church Wardens there for the time being

Allso I Give and Devise All that my Messuage or Tenement and Yard and Orchard Scituate and being in Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the said County of Leicester purchased of Edward Hawley and others unto my Servant Sarah Gregory and her assigns for and During the Terme of her Naturall Life & from & after her Decease I Give & Devise the same unto my Nephew Robert Daft his heirs and Assigns for ever Subject to the payment of Twenty Shillings Yearly & every year upon the twenty fifth day of March for ever Clear of all Taxes payments or Reprizes whatsoever unto the Elders of the Society of the people Called Quakers belonging to Long Clawson meeting to be by them Distributed amongst the poor of the said Society at their discretion the first payment thereof to begin and  to be made upon the Twenty fifth day of March which shall first happen next after my decease

Allso I Give and bequeath unto my Neece Anne Caunt on Bond from John Barnes to me for Twenty pounds principall Money and all the Interest money which shall be due upon the same at the time of my Decease

Allso I Give and bequeath unto my Nephew in Law Richard Smith the Sume of Tenn pounds of Good and Lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named within one year after me Decease

Allso I Give & bequeath unto my Servant Anne Jackson Twenty Shillings

And Allso All the rest of my Goods Chatttels rights Creditts & personal Estate whatsoever I Give and bequeath unto my said Nephew Robert Daft whom I doe hereby make & Ordain Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all  former Wills and and Testaments whatsoever by me at any time heretofore made In Wittness whereof I the said Joseph Westby have hereunto Sett my hand and seal the Twenty Third of Aprill in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Thirty four.
