This is that last Will and Testament of me Samuel Wells of Abb Kettleby in the County of Leicester Grazier
I give unto the five Children of my late Brother Edward Wells namely Edward, Sibella, Samuel, William and George the Sum of Fifty pounds apiece
I give to my Sister in Law the Widow of the said Edward Wells Fifty Pounds in case she shall survive me and if she shall die before me I direct the said Sum of Fifty Pounds to be equally divided between her said five Children
I give to John Wells my Nephew the Son of my Brother George a Legacy of Fifty Pounds
I give to my Niece Elizabeth Goodson Ten Pounds
I direct the above Legacies to be paid at the expiration of Six months from my death
Subject to the payment of the above Legacies my Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences I give and bequeath all my Money Securities for Money Household Goods Farming Stock and all other my personal Estate and Effects to my Nephew Thomas Wells who now lives with me but subject also to his keeping maintaining and clothing my Brother Mattias in the same manner as I have lately been accustomed to do for him
I give and devise all the Messuages Lands and real Estate of which I shall die possessed unto my said Nephew Thomas Wells his heirs and assigns for ever
I give and devise all the Messuages or Tenements Closes Lands Hereditaments and real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever of which I am seized as a Trustee or Mortgagee in fee And not beneficially unto and to the use of the said Thomas Wells his heirs and assigns for ever To be held by him upon the same Trusts And for the same intents and purposes and subject to the equity of redemption Affecting the same As shall be subsisting at the time of my decease
And I appoint the said Thomas Wells sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said Samuel Wells the Testator have hereunto set my hand this Seventeenth day of September One thousand eight hundred and fifty

This is a Codicil of the Will of me the above named Testator Samuel Wells
I revoke the Legacy of Fifty pounds by my said Will bequeathed to John Wells my Nephew the Son of my Brother George and instead thereof I give and bequeath to him a Legacy of Ten pounds only
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fifteenth day of July One thousand eight hundred and fifty one

Thomas Wells of Abb Kettleby in the County of Leicester Farmer the sole Executor in this Will and Codicil named was duly sworn to the Truth and faithful Performance thereof as usual and that the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased do not amount in value to the Sum of One thousand five hundred Pounds and that the deceased died on the eighth day of September last past

On the 2nd day of Jan 1852 Original Will Exhibited before the Revd John Wing Clerk MA and Surrogate of the Commissary and Probate decreed to pass Seal to the above named Thomas Wells the Sole Executor in the presence of
