This is the last Will and Testament of me Andrew Guy Wells of Plungar in the County of Leicester Farmer

First I give the following pecuniary legacies namely

To my Cousin John Leavers of Nottingham Park the sum of Two hundred pounds

To my solicitor John Martin of Nottingham the sum of Two hundred pounds

To my Housekeeper Miss Harriett Robinson the sum of Twenty pounds

To my Cousin Henry Gibson Jalland of Nottingham Wine Merchant the sum of Two hundred pounds

To my Cousin Robert Arthur Jalland of Nottingham Park the sum of Two hundred pounds

To my Cousin Mrs Matilda Jalland of Nottingham Park the sum of One hundred pounds

To my uncle Isaac Watchorn the sum of One hundred pounds

To my uncle William Watchorn the sum of One hundred pounds

To my uncle James Watchorn the sum of One hundred pounds

To my Aunt Mrs Cheshire of Eaton in the County of Leicester the sum of One hundred pounds

To Mrs Michael Watchorn of Melton Mowbray the Widow of my late uncle Michael Watchorn the sum of One hundred pounds

To my Cousin Mrs William Heap of Melton Mowbray aforesaid the sum of One hundred pounds

And to my Cousin Mrs Warren Bowers of Nottingham the sum of One hundred pounds

To my Labourers Enoch Munkley, William Davey, William Worthington and Thomas Bailey the sum of Twenty pounds apiece

I give all the Jewellery and paraphernalia belonging to my late Mother unto my said Uncles Isaac Watchorn, William Watchorn and James Watchorn and my said Aunts Mrs Mary Cheshire and Mrs Michael Watchorn to be divided amongst them by and at the discretion of my Executors and in case of any of my said Uncles or Aunts dying in my lifetime the portion of such of them so dying to go to their respective children in such way as my Executors may think proper

And as concerning All that my present Dwellinghouse at Plungar aforesaid And also All that my Freehold Farm land and premises situate in the parishes of Plungar and Stathern And all my Farming Stock and Implements of Husbandry and other effects on my Farm at the time of my decease and all my Household goods and Furniture plate linen Chinas and other Household effects I give devise and bequeath the same unto my cousin Richard Guy Wells his heirs executors administrators and assigns absolutely Subject nevertheless to and charged with the payment of any deficiency there may be in payment of my Debts Funeral and Testamentary expenses and the Legacies hereby given arising from the proceeds of the sale of my Estate at Keyworth hereinafter devised and my residuary personal estate hereinafter bequeathed

Next as concerning all my real estate situate at Keyworth in the County of Nottingham and all other my real estate not hereinbefore devised And all my money and securities for money and all other my funeral estate and effects whatsoever not hereinbefore disposed of I give devise and bequeath the same unto my Trustees Henry Gibson Jalland and John Martin their heirs executors administrators and assigns Upon trust as soon as convenient after my decease to sell and dispose of my said real estate and to convert into money all such parts of my said personal estate as shall not consist of money and thereout to pay my just debts Funeral and Testamentary expenses and the Legacies hereinbefore bequeathed so far as the same will extend and then to pay the residue of the said moneys if any unto the said Richard Guy Wells to whom I hereby give and bequeath the same absolutely

And lastly I hereby nominate and appoint the said Henry Gibson Jalland and John Martin joint Executors of this my Will and hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made I declare this to be my last

I Andrew Guy Wells of Plungar in the County of Leicester Farmer do make a Codicil to my Will dated the Twenty first day of February one thousand eight hundred and eighty four

I hereby revoke the following Legacies give by my said Will namely To my late Housekeeper Harriett Robinson Twenty pounds and the several Legacies of One hundred pound each to my Uncles Isaac Watchorn William Watchorn and James Watchorn

I hereby give to Mrs Michael Watchorn the Legacy of One hundred pounds in addition to the Legacy of One hundred pounds given to her by my said Will and to her daughter Ellen Martha Watchorn who now lives with me I give the Legacy of One thousand pounds in acknowledgement of the trouble and kindness shown towards me and I direct that all the Legacies hereby and by my said Will given shall be paid free of Legacy duty

In all other respects I hereby confirm by said Will

Proved at Leicester with a Codicil on the twenty seventh day of October 1888 by the Oaths of Henry Gibson Jalland and John Martin the Executors named in the Will to whom Administration was granted

The Testator Andrew Guy Well was late of Plungar in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the sixteenth day of August 1888 at Plungar
